Hitch-biking towards and along the east coast

Ill be heading to the east coast, and maybe the ocala gathering in the coming new year, from texas by bicycle and thumb. This will be the first leg of a journey with no specific time limits. While on the road, aside from seeing the sights and mingling with whoever i see, I plan to get into hands on educational opportunities in wilderness living, organic agriculture, ecovillage/commune design and whatever else that strikes my fancy.

Anyone know of any cool places i could visit and stay as I scale north along the eastern coast? Any rainbow strongholds?
