i listen to a lot of music but i want to listen to more :drool5: does anyone have any suggestions of newer artists that are any good? any genres other than country and i don't want to see men with eyeliner and better hair than i ever had or wanted :cheers2:
Well, being an old fart I only listen to artists I know so I don't know any real new ones but I do like: Lords of Acid Flyleaf Chemical Brothers Daft Punk Crystal Method Evanescence (Amy Lee is one sexy chick!) Fisherspooner Incubus All good to me.
besides listening to stuff like the dead, floyd and stuff like that ive also always loved ska...some i like are Catch 22 Streetlight Manifesto Reel Big Fish Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution The Supervillians Less Than Jake Goldfinger The Aquabats some other good older psychedelic stuff you might like The Flow Human Instinct The Insect Trust Stained Glass
yeah i mean crystal method and incubus are good. i will listen to lords of acid & chemical brothers more to see if i can dig them. evanescence and flyleaf are awful thanks! i used to listen to ska.... everything you said except for bandits of the acoustic revolution. and those last 4 bands i shall check out, the flow sounds familiar. what do you mean by 'older'?
bandits has a lot of the musicians from catch 22/streetlight and they play most of the same songs but they play them a bit differently and its a nice change the 4 bands i listed as older i found from a torrent my friend sent me a while back that was labeled "Nine Albums of Psychedelic Rock-Heavy 1968-72" i cant remember all nine and the hard drive that the folder is on isnt working right now or id offer to send them to you. the flow and human instinct are my favorite of the 4. i havent listened to stained glass much but i remember them being good and the insect trust if im remembering correctly remind me a lot of Jefferson airplane because they have a female singer
its just something about the horns that just draws me in haha i dont listen to it much during the winter but i always seem to come back to it in the summer, kinda like i listen to more floyd in the winter haha
ive been listening to a lot of random stuff lately. A couple songs ive played a lot lately are 'Bulletproof' by La Roux and "To Lose My Life filthy dukes remix" by White Lies. Both are a little 80s
fleet foxes, iron and wine, air, crystal castles, bassnectar, ben harper, old crow medicine show, string cheese incident, keller williams, the helio sequence, hilltop hoods, grizzly bear, john butler trio, M83, flobots, kaki king, kasabian, matisyahu, michael franti, moby, muscles, passion pit, pinback, stick figure, ratatat, Rjd2, radiohead, xavier rudd theres some of my favorites. allll good =]
those two bands are awesome. especially pinback. they might be my favorite band. you should check out silversun pickups (kinda similar to pinback) and malbec (kinda similar to the helio sequence) check out my radio stations in that link, tculi and i know that i kinda dissed reel big fish in another thread, but while i was just doing the dishes, i remember that i saw them live a couple years ago. front row with a friend of mine - reel big fish is his FAVORITE band. he's seen them like 12 times and met them like 4 times. he always shows up like 3 hours early and stays until he absolutely is kicked out.
I recently discovered Pinback and fell in love, Summer in abaddon is fucking god tier music. And Silversun pickups and radiohead are really awesome too
i saw silversun pickups live a couple of weeks ago on 1.5 hits of acid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRqKibSQyHo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFcMFoL3YUI not my videos
