Everyone now that we seen what our fellow lsd users did before us in the 60's. We can use there mistakes and learn from them and begin another hippie movement. people say it can't be done but it can right know there are Canadians fighting in a war that's not ours. they say we are peace keepers but war is not peace keeping. also lsd went underground almost after the 60's we need to bring it back in the light and show people it can help people get better perspectives on life. our peers before us over used this drug. They were on the right path but just got to greedy. Now we know lets start i new movement. people we are the next generation. We have to help save our planet and the way we are going it isn't going to be around for much longer so plz reply and we can set up meets to discuss this further.
I'm all for a new era of psychedelic research and understanding, but it should be above any kind of "movement." A new hippy movement would be especially difficult because that very lifestyle lends itself to abuse, just like it did in the 60s and has in the underground since. Any movement built around drug use is probably doomed to fail because other drugs are going to pop up very quickly, just like what happened on the Haight. I appreciate that you acknowledge the old movement's mistakes, but I think it would happen in the same way if it started again. People need to be much more widely educated before we start passing out the acid.
k what i am trying to say is that there are wars, economic problems, global warming problems and the people that can fix these things are the government and the large businesses but all they care about is more money and power. so we need a group that can stand as a voice you know i am dead serious we need to do this i am fearing the worse for my future. i do not want to live through a nuclear war do you? you dont even need lsd but i am saying lsd can show people how to look at these probloms and come up with ways to solve these probolms ( i have gone over these issues with friends well on lsd and our prospectives are very thought provoking). Everyone now a days is worrying about power and money when very soon our planets going to be gone if we don't start caring about taking care of it. everyone brings up the issue and everyone cares about taking the next step in taking care of our planet but no one does any thing know is the time a large group does. We need to become bigger then the old hippie movment did we need to become a world wide thing starting right here on this forum ok so if your interested reply i really am going to be pushing for this.
There seems to be already a movement in progress. This movement is happening everywhere, but is orchestrated individually. The hippies of the 60s failed to realize that the whole world couldn't be forced to change a particular way. Those hippies were forcing love, like the government was forcing fear. People most grow together, not push one another down. There were mixed messages of the 60s. There were people who experienced something real, a life changing spiritual experience, and were using lsd to better themselves, and spread love. Then there were those who were saying they were doing that, but then they were doing heroin in the alley way, fucking hookers, and robbing old ladies purses for more heroin. A lot of people were out on the streets, and a lot of things got ugly. The 60s defiantly wasn't a fluke though. The 60s opened a lot of peoples eyes, a lot of miraculous things were discovered by the people. A lot of people reached a point in themselves them is rarely touched, and they touched it together, which is beautiful! A lot of the vibes from the 60s are still rockin our world today, and im not talking about the music. What they were doing, the ideas they were putting out there, it was taking time to crystalize. Now when you watch a video on the 60s, you get this feeling, and you see that there was this understanding that was there, people were awake, and you begin to become awake. Now I feel what we can learn from the 60s is to be incognito about it. Be invisible about it. (By the way if you read "The Invisibles" you will understand what you should be doing, and you will understand the real movement going on) We have to be islands in the sea. We claim ourselves, and no one else can claim us. The movement now is become your own individual. Don't give in to the machine. Become deprogramed from your culture, and reprogramed back to nature. Find your spirituallity, find your own power inside. Be free from any government, any predjudice, any belief system, any fear, be free on your own terms. Once we become individuals, then society no longer has any affect on us. The government will crumble, because there will be no people willing to abide by it, willing to work for it, to pay for it, to vote on it, to take a place in it. With no people, there is no government. The universe is lawful in itself, by becoming natural you are governed morally by your own intuition. When enough people open there eyes to this, a point will be reached where compassion will overtake the fear, our humanity will become a new, and we will bring about a goldin age with our own understanding.
Society is just individuals. You're like the people of South Park during the economic crisis episode. They tried to deal with "The Economy", not understanding that the economy is just what you do. Same with society. It's not an entity that you are opposed to, or outside of. You are society.
during the 60's the hippies tried to create a peaceful nation and in lighten people about life. Well they put there points across they contradicted them self's with protests and fighting against the government. what i am trying to say is they were on the right path and we should use those blue prints as a outline and learn from there mistakes and begin another revaluation towards a more peaceful planet. Everyone seen how that movement created such a large impact on the future why cant we do it again? this time we cuold do it even better.
basing society on lsd would cause so much bad shit to happen, even if it is an enlightening drug. people would flip their shit, death everywhere
Most of the cats that you meet on the street speak of true love, Most of the time they're sittin' and cryin' at home. One of these days they know they gotta get goin' Out of the door and down on the street all alone. change starts with yourself. lead by example, without fear. blaze a trail. 1 2 3 go. can you feel it yet?
It's already started; http://www.maps.org/ http://www.helpforheadaches.com/articles/psilocybin.htm http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2009/oct/23/lsd-ecstacy-health-benefits http://www.rickstrassman.com/ http://blogs.zdnet.com/emergingtech/?p=979 http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/explorer/4094/Overview#tab-Overview and this time it's being shown some respect and possibility. So how could starting a "movement" of the type you seem to imply would most likely do nothing but help get this research banned for another forty years. It requires a major shift the paradigm, this is a good beginning. Prove medical value, force rescheduling of these substances. :cheers2:
What I was trying to say is that society should be individuals. Society today is ran by trends, fads, and the media. Everyone is fitting into their stereotype, Im a redneck, im a gangster, im a hippie, im an indie rocker who is supposed to be an individual but i just look like every other indie rocker. A true individual is someone who defines himself between the lines. Someone who is just expresses their inner feeling fully. Someone who is humble enough to just be there self. Someone who thinks for himself. Someone who doesn't give a fuck, so that he can be able to Give a Fuck! I was saying what kyle was saying on South Park. That the goverment is just ran by people, once we start becoming more individual, once we refuse to be controlled by fear, then the government will change. Either the government will be changed to a loving understanding wise system of global communicating, or it will be dropped all together leaving people to be wise enough to sustain life on their own.
2000 babby! all you old hippies ate the better acid but we can smoke any you under the table....thc levels up to 17%?!?!
honestly people romanticize the 60s too much. those hippies were a bunch of doped up lost souls with a few revolutionarie's in their midst. the movement was really just a popular countercultural fad that a bunch of people hopped on. ask any old hippy who was around then, most folks just looked the part but didn't do shit 'cept get fucked up.
unless you were there...all you know about the 60s is what the media tells you. And we know who controls the media. http://www.sweetliberty.org/issues/shadow/jewishmedia.htm
start by "spreading the love" round people you see potential to start your movement. in a way we have to use our best judgement in choosing our representatives wisely...that is if you want to learn from the so called mistakes. looking like a bum only takes you so far in this world. and in the medias eyes that equals trouble. and believe it or not you have to win the media over. music television and radio....people who feel the same way and see the great potential in the movement will eventuall flock to you opening up new doors of resources. yeah this so called movement has started already...but their mere pockets in the world...it doesnt mean you cant start up something in your area and help spread the word spread the love
I also think it's important to realize that you can't separate the movement in the 60s from the fact that kids were getting drafted and sent to war and killed. Which really help energize the peace movement on college campuses and other places. You also can't separate the civil rights movement, which was partly accelerated by scholarships and business loans for African Americans which opened up our economy and education to everyone in the early 60s. There were a lot of people who were deeply involved in starting the movements in the 60s who never took LSD, but spent time learning about public policy and how it affects our lives and ways they can shape that policy. I don't know if Martin Luther King Jr took acid, but it doesn't really matter. I think people tend to think if we all realize what's right we will be okay. I think a lot of people know what's right (without taking acid), but are unable to implement it because they don't have to educational, social, or emotional skills to do it....or maybe just too lazy or selfish. I also think there's some amazing stuff going on, and in a lot of ways, things are slowly getting better.
lol no all i know is what my 65 year old neighbor tells me. he never went to woodstock. went to haight and he saw " a bunch of speed freaks dressed like hippies."
