So i'm 17 years old and I am planning and saving money to go to North Carolina this July. I have a part time job and will hopefully save at least $1000 dollars before I make the trip. I will be 18 in March, I have a car, and will have to find employment within the first month of living there to support myself. My parents might pay for community college, if not then I will have to. Can anyone speak from experience of moving out of state at a young age and also any financial advice would help as well.
You are going to need to learn how to pinch pennies. Don't buy anything brand name for a while, if you can get something for free, do it. It will probably be lonely at first, Kentucky is not NC...so be prepared. Don't give up an turn back. And try to secure a job before you move!
don't just start dicking some ho so you can live at her place. put a roof over your own head and support yourself. if you gonna get wit ha girl, find one that doesn't need your meager earnings.
I don't really live off of a lot as it is. My expenses while living at home are cigarettes, weed, paint, no tv, cheap or handmade clothes etc. I really just want to know if this is a reasonable goal, also, i'm not very emotionally stable at times so this might affect my attitude towards the move.
Moving to an area where U know nobody, have no job, have no college education and no place to live will not be easy. You should first check what the typical rent for an apartment will be. Also you would need to know what kind of neighborhood your moving into. You don't want to move to a high crime area. What about unemployment? How easy is it to get any kind of job there? In my neighborhood, Walmart just put on a hiring freeze. What about a community college in Kentucky?
check craigslist for free stuff that you might need, save up MORE than a thousand dollars. it goes quick, especially with deposits on apartments and utilities and surviving until your first paycheck. get a job BEFORE moving
