So I got some RC's in, and realized that I need a new scale. Any helpful tips / hints on searching for one? I am not looking to spend too much, but would like something with quality.
23$ milligram scale. Accurate to within about 5mg, so keep that in mind with what substances you're using. I own this scale and have only ever used this scale in all my endeavors. It's cheap, but it's cheap http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10515
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10515 This link has been posted many times, but here ya go. Bout as cheap as you're gonna get.
The dose that I have to weigh out is 5mg, and it has sensitive dosing. I am willing to spend a little more for proven accuracy.
Well, you'll be spending several hundred if that's what you want, but typing in milligram scale on google should find you plenty of more expensive ones.
Looking at about $40 up or down. I didn't know if any of you have and reviews on ones not to buy, or good ones in your opinion. I will start doing some research
i use the gemini-20 Mg scale... it works well, and is accurate +/- 2mg...i bought that one rather than the 23 dollar one because it seemed easier to use...i'm very happy with it. this scale gets priced differently a lot [i've seen it priced at $120] but i got mine brand new for $40... try ebay.
the one i got is accurate, it gives you a 10g weight to help you make sure that it's correctly zerod. http://cgi.ebay.com/0-001g-x-20g-AM...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item27ad3cdfeb it was $20.88
The Gemini one is the one I got, it seems to be pretty popular and cheap. It is sorta cheap, but triple-checking the measurements they're always within 2mg of each other. For more sensitive things (like 5mg) I'd just measure 15 and divide it in three. I think it's more accurate the greater the measurement.
i wonder which scale is more accurate.. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14386 or http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10515 because 5mg is a big difference with 2c-p lol..the other one doesnt even measure mgs
that method works pretty well if you're good at it, but i wouldn't want to risk it with anyhting that dose sensitive. Sometimes if i have to weigh out like 5 11mg caps of 2c-e, i will weigh out 55mg, divide it into 5 piles, then weigh each pile before capping it. it makes the process less time consuming...somehow. [note...i ALWAYS double check my measurements, and calibrate my scale often.
Well one of them scales 0.01g, and the other one scales 0.001g. So I'm guessing the second one would be more accurate.
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10515 Price: Ease of Use: Build Quality: Usefulness: Overall Rating: Pros: Amazing Price! Nicely working scale and very small. Easy to use. Didnt took long to fully understand how this works. Cons: Not so accurate: After couple of calibrations, the scale shows +6mg (Tested with euro coins). Manual is really rubish. Other Thoughts: Bought this for accure (mg) scale. But maybe not so good for that use. Brilliant for other uses. Bottomline: Great Scale for 20 euros. Same kind of scale cost like 70 euros webstore near me. So buy this if you want almost accurate scale something like messuring herbs etc. Doesn't look very accurate.
a lot of us have that scale ^^^^^^^^^ i have personally owned two and loved them. im saving up for this really nice one on ebay. i have to find it again tho. its a touch screen and i believe it may go to mcg. i jus found this one tho that looks like it may be a step up from wat we have? http://cgi.ebay.com/0-001g-x-20g-AMW-Gemini-Digital-Milligram-Gram-Scale_W0QQitemZ270495102680QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3efac3b6d8
