Al Franken's newest book is awesome, I'm reading it now and it is enlightening. Al exposes the so called "mandate" of 2004 and other lies and hypocritical policies of the Bush administration. Read it!!
He's clever, very clever even. Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot was a really funny book. However, I wouldn't take everything he says to heart. Not only is he just a comedian, but he's a comedian with an agenda and just as powerful a bias as anyone. Much like Penn and Teller's show, it's probably a good idea to check his "facts" before taking too much of it to heart. This being said, I usually agree with him, but my point remains.
Isn't this a good idea regardless of who wrote the book? Anyway, the fact that Franken is "just" a comedian in no way disqualifies him from having a valid point of view. Mark Twain wrote books and articles laced with both venom and humor, and made his points using fiction, with very little verifiable fact, but 100 years later most of us recognize his voice as one of the most truthful of his time. It's also possible to create a lie by selecting only the facts that support it. Just ask GWB. Ever heard the expression "lies, damn lies, and statistics"? The Devil can quote scripture to his own purposes. Truth and facts are related, but they are not the same thing
