I ordered some amanita spores, but the problem is it's really cold here and I don't know if they'll be able to stay alive in my mail box. I'm gonna get home an hour after they arrive and the temp is prolly gonna be close to freezing. So my question is, how long can the spores last until they die under such cold conditions? They'll be wrappedd in normal bubble wrap.

The best place for spores is in a refrigerator, so yeah they should be fine. I dobut they would freeze, even if they did I think they would still be ok.

Heat is where the problem lies, seeing as it denatures things, cold won't be a problem.

Amanitas? iffy stuff there man, tread carefully. Read a book like "The Audobon society field guide to north american mushrooms" and look up the amanita species you have. . .they'll have the normal fruiting seasons listed for it.

AAAAAAAAmaniiiiiiiitas.... Yea they grow here in germany, and they can stand the winter, they even survive in Mongolia, so if you do it in NY it should be ok.
