Hey guys... Forgot to mention something.. We are going on a Carnival cruse in January.. we leave from Miami, and go around the Islands and stuff... Anyhow, will there be any way in hell of either getting weed on the boat, or, if I can find some on land - getting it onboard without any risks? Family will be there, so I don't want to mess them up... Peace Soc
There are usually not drug sniffing dogs, although since you will be leaving the country, there will be increased security. I have friends that have done it several times and I've taken weed through on a flight although I was wearing a suit the entire time. Just remember, if caught by an employee of the federal government, you could be looking at worse charges. If you are caught by an employee for Carnival, I think things could be handled without the law, especially if you are 42.
you'll be fine doing either. i went on a carnival cruise several years ago, and i bought weed both in mexico, and jamaica and snuck it on the boat just fine. just keep it in your pocket- you'll have to put any bags you bring onboard through a scanner. if your getting on the boat, do the same thing, and just make sure you dont set off a metal detector upon security checkpoint.. thats reason for them to empty your pockets, or patdown.. as long as you don't set the metal detector off when you walk through, you're fine. so long as you dont look sketchy about it. the security is just tryin to process the crowds and get them to where they are tryin to be quickly, therefore making it very simple to walk through with some goodies in your pocket... same thing with airports even, really easy.
cool... I'm thinking of picking up in miami - as I would hate to be hasled by customs in a place like "mexico" for example... but getting on the boat in florida means no customs at that point... Also, I am a medial user (have a card here), so my hope was to find a compation club somewhere in miami... do they have them there? is miami as chilled towards this as say california? (or is that a bad idea out there)... not sure which stats are conservative, and which ones are cool with that.. And hey, worse case senario, I'm sure it will be one awesome trip weed or no weed - never been on a cruse.. but herb would be nice to have... Peace guys Soc
that'd work, just be careful buying it in florida... unfortunately there is no medical marijuana laws in florida, and the state laws for florida are actually very harsh. just getting caught with a little bit for personal use could catch you a lengthy sentence... unfortunately, the federal government doesn't have much compassion for medicinal users from other countries (or even our country, for that matter), so even if you have a medical card- it wont do any good if you get busted trying to pick up weed in florida. just so you know what your up against there, heres a breakdown of florida's marijuana laws: http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=4530 the "customs" you will experience when you board the boat and leave port is probably nothing like your imagining... its no where near as stiff as the customs you go through for international flights. there isnt much to it... you will go through a line, where you will have to show some documentation, walk through a metal detector, and then when your walking onto the boat, there is an bag x-ray scanner you will have to put whatever bags you are bringing back onboard through there. and thats it... even if they have a K-9, they dont have them walk up to people and sniff them for drugs, so if you see one, dont sweat it. you might be better off trying to just get your bag wherever your cruise is headed... not sure where exactly you're going, but if that place is known even a little for marijuana.. you'll get offers galore upon stepping off the boat. (in mexico, belize, and jamaica i was offered weed by people waiting around the port within 5-10 mins of disembarking) you might have to shop around though... a lot of shit sold to tourists is complete garbage. also, there is bound to be people smoking pot on the cruise ship... i met 2 different people on my cruise, who were potheads, and had also snuck weed onboard with them. i would just walk around the deck at night smoking weed with my friend, until we started getting whiffs of weed that wasn't coming from us... we just followed our nose and it lead us to some other really cool stoners! have fun, and be safe!
don't do it, I worked a cruse building and you better believe they had drug dogs inside and outside, I had one come right up to me. If you don't have the time then don't do the crime
interesting- i went on a carnival cruise in 2002 (so this was still post 9/11) and there were no dogs.. your post made me do some looking, and apparently since 2003 carnival has hired k-9 units at all of its US port locations... not sure what cruise line the OP is going on, but here is some info about carnivals dog procedures: http://www.southernhillskennels.com...le/Carnival-Cruise-Lines-Canine-Screening.pdf it clearly states that all bags are sniffed upon being loaded onto the vessel... which again, is why i recommend just keeping that shit in your pocket when you get on... it is highly unorthodox for any transportation medium (planes, trains, boats) to have K-9 dogs come up to the passengers and sniff them.. this could lead to issues like people getting bit/scratched/attacked by the dog, and thus is generally avoided.. i've walked within 5 feet of a K-9 at JFK airport one time with about 5-6 grams, and a glass bowl in my pocket.. it was fine. also, one time i was with a friend (this was 4-5 years ago now) and he got pulled over.. me and him both had a joint on us that we were about to smoke, and we look in the mirror and we got lit up by the cops... i quickly grabbed the 2 joints (~1g each) and threw them down in the transmission housing, where it is left somewhat open (just covered in rubber) so the handbrake can be pulled. we were stoned as fuck at the time, the officer took one look at my friends eyes and called in a K-9... we refused a search, but they got my friends pipe in the pat-down... so the K-9 shows up, gets in the car, literally RIGHT on top of where 2 joints are resting just inches below it, and doesnt find shit! we certainly could have just gotten lucky (maybe it was a rookie ass drug dog?), but it seems like every time i have come in contact with a police K-9, i have gotten hella nervous but for no apparent reason... i bring this up just to mention that again, id highly doubt they have a handler bring a dog up to all the persons to sniff them for contraband... you will probably see a dog, but dont fret, as long as the handlers aren't letting him loose right up on you.. you should be fine. best bet is certainly going to be scoring bud once you leave the U.S... when you initially board the boat to depart the US- thats when security is most tight (when i went anyways). there certainly is a chance you could get caught- but really, when isnt there? i have done quite a bit of traveling with marijuana, and the only times i have been hassled were all after getting pulled over in cars... i wouldn't be bringing this up if i didn't firmly believe it will be easy to get weed on the boat.. it seems everytime i go somewhere- i am shocked at how easy it was. be careful in any case. good luck
well I did bring pot back in my pants on a plane before, but I have never heard of dogs being at the airport here is a joke, we have one gate here and that's it
thats probably a good call. you can't be too careful when you've got shit on you... especially when traveling.. unfortunately for me, i hate going anywhere without a stash, and sometimes finding a connection where you are going can be very hard.. especially in tourist type of areas with lots of undercovers... haha, wtf kind of airport is that! what did you fly on... a two-seater single engine cessna or something?
Hey guys, Got back from my cruse a few weeks back... sorry to have take so long to post (long story). Anyhow, assides from really hating the cruse... (fucking wall mart on the water carnival ship)... full of rasist bastards that just want to eat, and treat the employees like crap... I did manage to to score weed... and yea, it was dead easy to get onto the boat. I got on the ship, and we did some sailing.. our 3rd day we stopped in Belize... basically we anchord... We hit the port.. found Rasta everywhere... Weed was all over... so.. I stuck some in my pocket... made it back to the ship.. and we chilled every night on our balcony. There were not dogs, the crew really does not care much about anything.. They do scan your stuff coming on board, but, I'm willing to bet that is just to find booze (as they want to rob you on the ship.. drinks are about $10 each... and you go thorugh metal detectors... Anyhow, there were quite a few of us that had it onborad... and man, if it wasn't for the herb, I may have even decided to swim back... Peace Soc
