Being a never nude, I find it intolerable for me to be completely naked for any amount of time. I shower in shorts, etc.

Any tips on how I can come out of my shell? No pun intended.

Time and practise. Try going to saunas etc.
is this just when you are around other ppl or also if you are on your own?

Assuming your post is not a joke, you should seek counseling. There is something fundamentally wrong. Although I am not a doctor and do not play one on television, it may be a result of some traumatic event you once experienced. For your own inner peace and security, seek out the advice of your doctor. If you cannot afford a doctor, call your local Social Services department. They may be able to locate a no/low cost professional. The sooner you address this matter, the better you will be. I would also be concerned that showering partially clothed would present hygiene issues since you cannot properly cleanse your body while impeded by clothing (especially in those areas of the body).

Some people do have phobias and habits that others may consider strange. In my reply I addressed the concern of a fake post up front. Did you ever consider that there may be people out there who are trying to help? The anonymity of this forum may be an avenue of hope that the initial poster turned to for help. Whatever the case, I don't think of it as a waste of time trying to be helpful to someone (possibly) in need. Perhaps you would think differently if you had some condition that others laughed at.

assuming you truly have a fear that intense, then i think therapy would be a good place to start! talking to someone about what you're going through will help you open up and start to appreciate your natural beauty. we all come into this world without any clothes :) i wish you the best of luck in this journey.

If you've ever seen Arrested Development, you know this OP is joking, based on the details in their post, AND the user name. If someone else with this condition reads your advice, and is helped by it, that is indeed a good thing. But I think the OP's joke was more disrespectful to those with any such condition than anything I said.
