hey folks, the dreads are three weeks old. I backcombed them and then just a couple days ago i crochet the ends to make them blunted. I used wax twice but i'm using it as a candle now(Much more effective that way!) Give me your feedback. Tell me what i'm doing wrong or right. Thanks everyone Sorry about the lazy eye. I think you have the potential for a great start. Lose the wax. Blunting your ends it going to make you insane. Especially when your just starting out. They wont stay that way, you'll be redoing the ends over and over and over at this point. I would let that idea go... for now atleast. You can fine tune your ends after you start to lock up. Gotta figure alot of the knots you made while back combing are going to slip down and lock or fall out. Back combing isn't meant to give you instant dreads, its just a method to get things going. The secret thing ya gotta do for some lovely locks... is... nothing. Do nothing.

I'd say just leave them be. Some of the tips just look like they've been tied in a big knot, Or flipped into the dread, which is sure to come loose.
Yeah i'm fine with the blunted tips coming undone. I just wanted them to look good for a couple of days. Is it okay to use aloe vera?
LOL.. yes Aloe will be just fine, I try not to use it to much, ,mainly when i go out on the weekend. Because you should wash it out within a couple days. Use it straight from the plant or i use it from the bottle. I buy 100% aloe gel, if you go with the bottle, make sure it doesnt have any extra ingredients that could possibly ruin your hair, like alcohol n stuff like that. And dont use a lot just enough to keep the fuzzy's down. After a few months they will tame down, and you wont need it. Well i did at least, that and i just dont care anymore.
Oh and dont get so angry when people leave you dumb answers it happens, and its only because U are the millionth person to ask if Aloe is okay for dreads! Its all listed in the FAQ's Man
