so do you guys "act" like a hippy at school? like wear hippy cloths, say man alot,.....protest stuff? just curious...
i know technically I'm long out of hs but back when I was in I sure as hell did dress like one and act like one, I'm proud to be what I am man
right on then! stay true but y'know some people don't like the steriotypes, or can't deal with criticism. haha, i got called out by my teacher for tye dyeing my gym uniform but no cosequence! lol
i dress hippy and act like it. i'm a senior now so im almost out but i am always like this i am who i am
I didn't really dress like a hippy in HS because I sold a lot of weed lol, but me and my friends did protest against a lot the of stupid HS bs rules you have to put up with (I live in the Bible belt, Hooray!)
I'm a senior now and I just dress the way I want to dress (basically like a hippie) but I don't necessarily protest. I speak out a lot and I've signed some petitions but nothing major. My school is a new school (opened 3 years ago) but the administration is super strict and paranoid aboutthat kind of stuff so if there is any plan to protest or what not they shoot it down and suspend people.
when i was in high school there was no way in hell we'd have put up with the fascist crap you kids put up with nowadays. the day the school started having cops with sniffer dogs roaming around on campus there was a mass exodus. the entire student body simply walked out the doors and we refused to return until our civil rights were guarenteed. we were on strike for more than a week but we won. cops were never on campus again unless there was a specific need for them. and we didn't even have cell phones or text messaging back then. you know, of course, you're being conditioned to meekly submit without question to authority. right? it's working. isn't it? well, we did our part so don't blame the older generation when you find yourselves living in a totalitarian state because you're too fractured and frightened to collectively stand up for yourselves.
I throw trash at any person I see who is dressed like a hippie. Or at least call them a "fucking hippie faggot" if I don't have any trash handy or they're too far away.
i dont dress like a hippy ive got alot of tie dye shirts but i never wear sandals and my clothes are always clean and i didnt protest in highschool but we were always smokin nugget in the back gym
Lol right on. At my school they started that when I was a freshman and by my Junior year they completely quit. They even went so far to call the searches "lockdowns". All us kids turned the lockdowns in to a complete joke. We'd ask the teachers if we could go to the bathroom and flush our "stash". We would harass the cops and put any kind of food we had into a teachers desk so it would attract the dogs, and which the broke-ass dogs couldn't smell a bag of weed if it was in front of them (trust me I know). A couple of kids parents even sued the school because the dog jumped on their cars and scratched the paint in HS parking lot.
Good for you and your schoolmates! **APPLAUSE!!** a teen friend of mine was treated like a smack selling criminal and suspended because she gave her cramp ridden girl friend a Midol at school. her schoolmates did nothing to confront the gross injustice. they all just kept their empty little sheeple heads down and carried on chewing their cuds of complacency. i was disgusted and deeply saddened to find out that the up and coming generation is so weak, self involved and fearfilled that they allow their school to be trampled by goose stepping jackboots. i guess as long as they have the newest techy gadget and wear the coolest brand name jeans all is right with their world. **sigh** bye bye Miss American Pie.
Well that depends on what you think hippies look like. I generally dress the same way at school as I do at home, but only about half my outfits are really 'hippie'-ish. Hippie doesn't have a uniform. I act and dress the same way at school as I do any other time.
I'm 17, currently in High School. I should be a Junior but I'm not, I'm a Sophmore. I totally embrace the glory of my inner Love Child every single day. I don't hide it, I love it and everyone around me knows I love it. So yes, I say man a lot, I protest, I smoke the Ganj, Rep the Tye Dye (I kid you not I'm wearing one now and I just painted some shoes rainbow it's amazing I know). I love being me and I love the impression I give people weather they like it or not.
oh and yes, I know the local fuzz and I'm on the dreaded "druggie list" that the Vice Principal has in his desk.
I used to come to school in tye-dye shirts and all the stereotypical hippie stuff, long hair and all... After I while I realized I was too concerned with wearing the uniform instead of putting my beliefs into action and actually doing stuff. I just cut my hair short and have been wearing the same flannel hoodie to school for the last 3 months, looking pretty much like your average teen now. I think it was actually a pretty smart thing to do. Now that I look more "normal", people listen to my crackpot ideas more seriously and don't just assume I'm a druggie. I suppose it is conforming in a way, but it's a lot easier to make changes when you're on the inside of things instead of being labeled and dismissed as an outsider for what you wear.
Didn't really fit the hippy label until after high school so no... I was a Halloween Hippie one year though!
