    What causes the nausea when it comes to cacti? Is it the mescalin itself or some other compound?

    I drank tea last night, equaled about 1'6" of mixed cacti, the tea was gross, but the naseua was minimal. My friend felt the same way...

    I've always heard that even pure mescaline causes nausea, but I doubt it's as bad as when consumed in slimy cactus form. I've never had too much trouble with it though. Try ginger pills, they work surprisingly well.

    now is this the same that like the "orange sunshine and purple microdots. they were suppose to be mescoline. They never caused me to get sick.

    Those are generally considered to be ALD-52, at least originally. It would be almost impossible to fit an active dose of Mescaline in a microdot.

    most of the time the nausea stage is brief if any. more rarely it's pretty rough and can be somewhat of an ordeal. in the Native American Church when someone has nausea or is throwing up we call that "getting well". these cacti are medicines. the nausea is just the medicine doing it's thing and if you puke thats because you probably had some stuff to get out of ya. its all really good though so drink up/eat up and be well my brothers and sisters.

    Some facts;
    "It is possible ALD-52 was the active chemical in the "Orange Sunshine" LSD that was widely available in California through 1968 and 1969. The Sonoma County underground chemistry lab of Tim Scully and Nicholas Sand was the source for "Orange Sunshine." It was shut down by the police, and Scully was arrested and prosecuted. This resulted in the first drug analogue trial, where Scully claimed that he and his partners did nothing illegal, because they were producing ALD-52 which was not an illicit drug. However, as the prosecution claimed, there were problems with such a rationale: first, ALD-52readily undergoes hydrolysis to LSD, and second, the synthesis of ALD-52 required LSD (this was based on the methods available in the scientific literature at the time). Scully was convicted and served time in prison."

    Given the Time, 68-69, mindbender62 would have been too young to have taken any of "that" Orange Sunshine. It seems that any Orange tablets of LSD after that were labeled "Orange Sunshine".
    Given that ALD-52 breaks down to LSD-25, even if a person did take Orange sunshine or purple microdots that were ALD-52, the effects they received were from LSD-25.

    Also an effective psychedelic dose of mescaline is around 200mgs-300mgs, and it is a bulky substance, impossible to fit that quantity into a microdot sized tablet, and it would have taken about 4-6 tablets at least of the size orange sunshine was to deliver that dose of mescaline. They were both LSD-25 any way you slice it.

    Most all psychedelics cause some degree of nausea because of the effect on the CNS.

    There's your factoid of the day.;)

    I cheat, I googled it. :p
    Seriously, all this info is readily available online and LSD is THE most studied psychedelic known. That is why I am always indignantly baffled by all the bad info that floats through these forums.
    But thanks for the confidence boost. :rolleyes:

    i've never drank the tea but i have had extracted mescaline a few times and i had minor nausea but nothing major. my friend however always either had to puke or shit real abruptly,then he started taking immodium and said it helped a little bit. it wasn't everytime he was pukin or shittin, it seemed more random
