this show just sounds so morally fucked up.. i cannot even begin to explain.. this is a prime example of what the american public wants to see.. "lets see some primitive people try and survive in the OC" wtf!.. yeah.. soak in that consumerism and take it back to your tribe.. now you all need cell phones! and those nikes will help you run down that cheetah better... /mini rant
I watched some of an episode the other day, it was really stupid.. The natives had NO idea what was going on and the americans that took them in thought everything was sooo funny cause they didn't know what shit was.
Yeah, I watched a bunch of episodes the other day and all I could think of is how fucked up these people will be when they have to come back to their island. ...also the whole notion of them spreading their message of "peace and hope" while simply staying with some families. The Obama worshiping New York woman was just horrendously dumb. The entire show is just poorly produced and probably completely scripted. What the men are really saying is "check out her clothed vagina" and now "I love America"
Didnt these guys see Britain a couple years ago? Mebbe they were different natives. I saw an episode this weekend, and there is worse to watch on tv. Its not Cartoon Network tho....
i think it's a neat concept... they have a bunch of shows about americans going to live with island natives, so it's pretty cool to see the reverse. i mean none of these guys are forced to visit america (from my knowledge), and from the episodes i saw no one was laughing at them. in fact, the natives bring up a lot of bad points about captialism/america... when they see the hobo on the street in new york they're like "obviously no one loves him", then they start talking about how terrible it would be to not have a job and that in their society everyone is equal blahblahblah
