I think they discontinued it, my freind mike works at the heinz plant, most the shit they used to make is made elsewhere now.. like africa and china..
it freaked everyone out i thought one time we had the green and purple and my mom made sauerkraut with sausage and put some green ketchup on it, sooo did not feel that
it just helps prove the point that you taste food with more than just your taste buds. you taste with your eyes too.
It is true. The color green was just unappetizing in contrast to the foods you are supposed to put ketchup on.
yeah because green food is to be saw as either not completely ripened or rotted, and purple food is to be poisonous
there is something about that, that just isnt right. Ketchup is supposed to be red so green looks like it would taste horrible.
The funny thing is that there is added dies to regular ketchup but people don't notice. My dad made me close my eyes and then take a bite out of two hot dogs so I could see if I could tell the difference. They tasted the exact same.... Well they are the same.. Just not the same colour.
I never tried it, although I did want to. It was just a marketing ploy. Dye it green and put it in a smaller bottle and sell it for 50 cents more than the regular sized bottles of traditional ketchup.
I checked the Heinz web site, no mention of it. However, I did look up the Wicki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketchup Here is what it said about it. It also said that the only difference in the products was the color. In October 2000, Heinz introduced colored ketchup products called EZ Squirt, which eventually included green, purple, pink, orange, teal, and blue.[5] These products were made by adding food coloring to the traditional ketchup. As of January 2006[update] these products have been discontinued.[6]
I do not like Green Ketchup on my Green Eggs and Ham, Sam I am. I do not like it in a boat, I do not like it with a goat, I do not like it here, I do not like it there. Frankly, I do not like it anywhere.
