so has anyone heard about lemon juice or vinegar being really healthy for your hair and scalp? I heard it from a friend but I'm not sure if it's true or if he is just saying shit to sound smart. And if it is true how would you use it, pour it on or rub it in??
I've heard things about apple cider vinegar. You are supposed to take one or two tablespoons per day. Does it work? No idea.
Warm lemon water as a drink is a facilitator of detoxification and anti-inflammatory. These will most definitely have a positive effect on hair and skin. I suggest drinking it with a straw to spare your teeth.
While the skin and hair benefit from external substances, from the inside out is equally as important. As mentioned earlier, apple cider vinegar will give you the same sort of benefits as lemon water. Also beneficial are green/white or a number of herbal teas, fish oil capsules, or my personal favorite milk thistle extract. Or an intensive nutritional and exercise regimen . But you came looking for quick tips so I'll digress no further.
whatever you do, DO NOT put lemon juice in your hair. It stripped my hair so badly i didnt have anymore color pigment in the strand. The sun from the beach burned my hair where i but the lemon juice. i had to dye my hair dark red to return pigment to my hair before i could color it my natural color. It was a horrible experience.
Addding lemon juice to water is a good thing for your blood system and skin. I used to do that but got out of the habit. So this thread my my reminder that I need to get back to doing that
you can add apply cider vinegar to your hair. Apple cider vinager balances the ph level in your hair. I have been doing it for two years. It is great, your hair will stink a like it a bit when it is wet but when dry it is fine. 1tbsp mixed with water and use it as a rinse substitution for cond. What i do is but i tbsp of a/c vinager into a reused bottle (anything will do , i reused a water bottle) then while i have my shower i fill it up with water, cold water is better but some people are not a fan. After I shampoo my hair with my baking soda mix, i use the rinse. i usually let it sit for a bit rinse it out and im done. if you have frizzy hair you can add more maybe 2 tbsp. You will probably have to play with it a bit to get the right mix for your hair. but i think it's great. i also use it on my face
Oh, don't apply lemon juice to your hair, it will lighten the color, but it might also strip your hair of natural oils and leave it dry and lackluster until it grows out.
