I dont know how many Canadians come in here, or hockey fans but, they are thinking of relocating failing U.S. hockey teams back to Canada, possible Quebec City, Winnipeg, Hamilton.. This makes me really happy, I thought they'd never come back, I loved the Nordiques and Jets, just for Nostalgia. I'm a Habs fan "Despite Canadian billionaire Jim Balsillie’s recent failed attempt to buy the Phoenix Coyotes and re-locate the franchise to Hamilton ON., there is plenty of activity and conjecture which suggests that Canada could yet be home to one or more struggling presently US based franchises. At the same time, a number of struggling franchises in the “Sun Belt”, combined with a strong Canadian dollar and an abundance of available infrastructure dollars for new arenas make re-location(s) a realistic possibility." -bizofhockey.com
Winnipeg will never have another NHL team, there is almost zero corporate support there and they dont have an arena COPPS Colosseum would need a tonne of upgrades but Hamilton is a decent market from my understanding quebec city has a brand new arena that could house a pro team, but i'm against giving those frogs back a team
teams should be in seattle, hartford, Hamilton, Quebec City, Kansas City, Cleveland, Winnepeg, Portland
I think that Quebec should get it back.. Quebecois love hockey good for economy #1.. #2 Quebec is the home of the original hockey clubs, you cant front on that.
Canada deserves to have the franchises... the fan base would support them. I'd love to see a team in Hartford but doubt the area would give the support one would deserve. Bring back the Nordiques!
I never understood how Miami, Tampa Bay, Phoenix got franchises before Houston. If one thing is certain, Texans love sports. Anyways, Houston has no chance now, so I think there should be more teams in Canada. Canadians are obviously more passionate about hockey, a good crowd can make a game intense.
No new arena yet and if any North American city deserves a hockey team, it's Quebec. The potential market is huge and it would reignite a rivalry that has been missing of late in the NHL. It just makes sense.
I could not agree more, most of the good rivalry teams disappeared when the NHL moved everything around. That would be great to see alot of teams up in Canada again. Personally I think if you cant go skate on a frozen pond in the winter then you should not have a NHL team.
that doesnt even make sense, Montreal won the first Stanley Cup, and the most Stanley Cups. Tabarnak lol
went to a special Olympic autograph signing last night with ovechkin, kicker is you cant bring any outside shit for him to sign, the only things he'll sign are one of 6 items you buy directly from the bay, cheapest thing is a $98 puck lol i ended up buying the $276 russian jersey and a $135 photo lol fuck, cool experiance though
I know Jack about the NHL, but I am a hockey player here in Wales. So just dropping a line to fellow followers. If anyone knows anything of hockey in the GB is that there isn't any, so I seldom get to speak to anyone who knows anything about it. Although I have seen the Maple leaves play on a trip to Canada like 10 years ago, so yeah... Go Canadian hockey, whatever they are doing with it
I'll second this and add something else that will probably get me lynched - Hockey should be OVER by the time June rolls around. For serious.
the hockey season is a little long winded.. not nearly as bad as MLB.. but still LONG.. they could easily cut a month out of the season
I think they should cut a month out of hockey.. it lasts soooo long I wouldn't mind, but my roommates bf talks non stop about hockey and it pisses me off.
Perhaps- but hockey is far and away more interesting to watch than a baseball game which ranks just slightly ahead of staring blankly into space in entertainment value.
