Near-sighted VS. Far-sighted Tripping

I am very intrigued about the mechanics of the eye, and have been debating with a few fellow trippers...

Near-sighted VS. Far-sighted Tripping

I have near sighted vision. I use Contacts that make my vision 20/20 and to be able to see farther and crisper I have tripped with and without contacts.

My good friend has Hawk like vision. Has tripped a few musshies, but not enough to TRIP. He can't read well without super magnifying specs, and holding the text as far from the face his hand can reach.

Any of you trippers have thoughts on Far sighted/near sighted and the difference in the trip?

first of all, HOLY SHIT that dancing girl video was fucking crazy.

i'm near sighted and wear contacts. i'll have to trip w/ them out and see what it's like.

 

I'm nearsighted and wear glasses. I'm pretty much blind without glasses so I've never tripped with them off but when I do trip I have a terrible time focusing on stuff and my depth perception is askew. I think part of the reason you see colors, shapes, fractals, etc on psychedelics is because the drugs relax the muscles in your eyes or something. I've felt the muscles in my eyes on DMT relax and then my eyes started to sort of twitch as the trip intensified.

 

nearsighted but lived my entire life without glasses, I wanna trip with glasses on, I freak out at how clear everything is supposed to be and how shitty my eyes are when I put glasses on, so I can imagine almost breaking down crying at the beauty and detail of everything whilst tripping

 

i have 20/20, but the craziest thing i've tripped out on was far away.
it was a cloud.

 

If you're using your eyes to trip... you're doing something wrong

You should be 'looking' with something else!

 

Not sure how much this relates but, when I take off my contacts I'm basically blind near and far wise (I can only see things literally infront of my face lol), and when there on ofc i got 20/20. But basically if my contacts are off and I'm on acid, I can still see things shifting around but in not as great of detail as I would if I had contacts on. It's almost as if being able to see in fine detail adds more to the trip visual-wise.

 

^ thats pretty cool, seems to imply that the visuals aren't just in your head.

 

I definetely get that too. I wear glasses for distance, and when i trip without them my visuals are blurry, just like the rest of the world.
