I'm sure it is different from person to person. But how much use does it roughly take to get withdrawl symptoms?

I say if you use two or three times weekly on a regular basis you will have some withdrawal symptoms, this all depends on the way you use too. But it just slowly progressed with me, I went from a couple loritabs and a doob, to 30mgs weekly, to 30mgs daily etc.....Now I'm an addict, in recovery, and I probably couldn't even take a couple hydros without being sick the next day, I've tried.

I can take opiates everyday for a week then stop with no withdrawl symptoms. i find it takes at least a few weeks of usage to get w/d. Its different with every opiate though, i find morphine will get you in w/d in a shorter amount of time than something like oxycodone.

I consider morphine much more addictive then oxy, espescially when the morphine is smoked.

your wd starts once your body begins to get accustomed to being high on oxy, i.e using everyday then stopping immediately can give you withdrawal. but i would say it takes more than a couple weeks for your tolerance to build and the more oxy you need to use to get high, the longer it takes to leave your system and the worse you feel

Thanks for the info. I go on little opiate binges that last five days once a month. Its during these times that I can get 10mg opanas for pretty cheap. I just hope one of these times I don't get stuck with wds.

Stop using and you can avoid them completely!! But if you are going to continue to use, just taper down when you know your supply is coming to an end. Also, try to avoid snorting or any other means of ingestion besides oral. Addiction comes much quicker with railing & shooting.

Pink floyds right taper when you get low..most people rail opanas because the bioavailability is something crazy. If you wanna be safe stick 2-3 runs like getting jammed on fri & sat or something to really be safe I would say 2days every 2 or 3 weeks.I had a huge opana problem just take my advice and keep it in check opana is one of the strongest opiate's there is-be safe.

yup, see tolerance builds extremely quick. for those of you who think using opiates is fun and you love getting high, the wd's will soon catch up with you and you will find yourself needing to do rediculous amounts to achieve that same high, and thats when your body starts withdrawing because of all the the oxy in your system

I had a mix of railing/chomping OC 80's, slamming dillies, and taking Norco 10/325's. I used moderately for about 5-6 weeks. Most the time I felt comfortably sedated, but I few times I was to the point of nodding. After I had stopped, I felt moody, had intermittent bouts of depression, and had a really tough time falling asleep. Everytime I was about to fall asleep, I felt this energy in my legs, like they wanted to squat 300lbs, and they would kick out in a twitch. I felt the same sensation in my arms, but to a lesser degree. It was really unpleasant. I got some more Norco's and took 1-2 before bedtime, along with some valium. That helped a TON! So, I think I experienced mild withdrawls after 5-6 weeks. Sorry if this post is too long, but this was rather recent so it's still very much in my thoughts.

if u never had WDs B4 you can go about 10 days or so with no WDs after youve had them then you will get them again alot faster---now days i can only do 3 trips B4 i get "dope sick"
either once a day for 3 days or 3 shots in one day---the next few days i'll be sick--and it doesnt matter how many months iv been clean either---my chemistry is just fucked up now

Wow, MasterC- that's really good to know, but I have to say I feel really bad for you. Would you share your length of use so I could put your situation in context?

Wow that sucks man. Thanks for the info. I'm going to be careful with this stuff.

I'm going to be off the opanas for a couple months. Not because of fear of wds or addiction, its just too damn expensive. I bought a few cases of poppy seeds to take care of the mental cravings.

I dabbled for years in doing bits of opiates here and there, started off snorting little bits of morphine, 15-30mg a day, then 60mg a day, and it wasn't a problem, i could stop for awhile and not get sick. I started doing dilaudid, or oc's from time to time, usually a couple 8mg or half an 80 at a time........again i didn't get sick. Then I started doing closer to a 100mg of morphine a day, or an 80..........when i would stop i'd get a little ill, but I could still stop. Then I got to smoking heroin sometimes......on top of an ever few days opiate/pharm habit. Now I still don't do it every single day, but I can't go longer than 2-3 days without getting ill.............opiates used to make me puke, don't really have that issue anymore, worse comes to worse i'll do saboxen but that's an act of desperation, it's rare I even get a nod going anymore, I try not to let my dosage get out of control, I know so many kids that boot I never thought my use was even in comparison........i'm beginning to think I may have more of a problem than i've been willing to admit to myself.....that's what led me to this thread, i'm sitting here on a couch covered with blankets and a hoodie, feeling like death. Every bone in my body is screaming, i'm weak and generally feel like I want to die, on top of that I got the shits. The strange thing is I try to turn the shit down all the time (I did last night) but now I can't..............I can make it a day or two but that's it.........of course I also use cocaine on a regular basis, but not very much, no more than a ball a week, and I eat lsd and mushrooms several times a week, but neither one of those is physically addictive. This really sucks.

In my experience it depends on three things: (1) interval between dosing, (2) duration of repeated dosing at that pace, and (3) the dose size and half-life of the specific substance (okay, that was four). Never had the pleasure of oxymorphone/opana... but the half-life isn't terribly long. So you could dose more often than using, say, methadone without w/d. And you'll find out sooner after stopping whether or not you'll have withdrawal. Onset and duration of withdrawal are directly proportional to half-life of the drug. Intensity is a different issue, and depends mainly on dose size, naturally, and length of continuous use, up to a point.

Maybe others disagree, but I think the best way for me is to avoid repeated dosing at short intervals (<48-72 hours; but therein lies the problem...). Before I had ever been dependent, I had one month of basically all-day hydrocodone and oxycodone after a surgery (seemed like a lot at the time; probably 10-15 5mg pills a day), and noticed no ill effects when my scripts ran out.

One thing I've noticed (anyone else notice this?), suprisingly, is that at first it's not always obvious to people when they're in minor withdrawal (it took me a long time to realize the restless leg stuff was op wd; or that I just didn't have the flu). Once you recognize it, though, you're stuck: you'll recognize any little w/d symptom again for the rest of your life... (IMO.)

I tried to find out the fastest-time-to-withdrawal by scanning reports of animal experiments, and the fastest I read (not sure where) was about 1 week of constant highest-possible-dose morphine administration to rats lead to measurable withdrawal after immediate discontinuation...

(All the poor rats in these labs who become addicted for the purpose of putting them into withdrawal! Especially in the antagonist studies... for benzodiazepines one test is whether/how fast the animal has a seizure after administration of an antagonist! For opiate studies, it's usually just how fast they flick their tale off a hot-plate. :(

WD depends on usage. If u don't use much and haven't done it that long it shouldn't be an issue. Slightly uncomfortable but you can function

If you use alot over a long period of time WD will be hell on earth. Since I'm in this catagory I'm nervous as can be. Then the days, weeks, and months of PAWS will be worse than the WD. Oh the anxiety of it all!!
