You can tell when the sugababes are doing their part. It doesn't fit in with the rest of it. i think the sugababes are pretty cool, but it doesn't really fit in with this one.

The song sounds rushed, and the spirit has been sucked out of it. It doesn't really feel like it should do. I like some of it, but it doesn't carry as much emotional weight as the original. I'll still probably get it though.

Maybe instead of re-recording the old single, they could have done a new one.

Well... I saw it on my beloved "Richard & Judy" tonight... interesting... I like the fact that they havn't just opted for a virtual copy of the original... this one seems to have more of an indie feel to it, thanks to Thom Yorke's piano riff... and the fact that they seem to rely more on the indie vocalists like Chris Martin and Fran Heally... and less on the pop stars than I was expecting... will need more listens before I can really pass judgement, but It was clearly different and better than I was expecting...

Damnit...that song's been on the radio nearly three times every day at work, and I didn't realise it was Girls Aloud covering it. I was getting puzzled about that...

I like the new version. It has an understated, more mellow feel to it which was a good way to go, as they were never going to match the power and emotion of the original. I like the ending as well, with the interesting medley of percussion. Thumbs up from me, I'll definitely buy a copy for the sake of the cause if nothing else.

I've got a suggestion.

Don't buy it, then it won't be Xmas number one and we won't have to be subjected to it for weeks on end.

Instead send the cost of the CD to a charity which works in Africa ... your money will go further and no poxy number one ... everyone wins

 

to be honest, i've not heard the song, i dont listen to radio, i dont read newspapers, i dont watch TV i have no idea whos in the charts or whos who in popular culture, if it wernt for you lot i'd have no idea that the song even existed!

nowI have had many an argument about the sugababes. Most people I know are convinced that heidi is the most beautiful, and then keisha, and that mutya is the ugly one.

I tend to think that mutya is the most beautiful, keisha is second, and as for heidi, she's not as good as the other two.
