wont let me go to any phish concerts....any one have any tips on how i can convince her? theyre truly brilliant and it could be life changing for me to see them live! HELP!
yeah then just be like we're going to the movies...... and go. if you're down with the lying thing. if not find out why she doesn't want you to go and provide a valid argument against it.
well my problem is i told her that i smoke pot and she doesnt like the idea of me getting into acid and stuff..so im guessing thats why she wont let me. she doesnt exactly approve of my being a vegetarian pacifist and what not..calls it nonsense. but i've got to see them while i have a chance so if i cant convince her i suppose ill just have to lie haha
yeah man... youi're 16 you'll be 18 soon enough. if you're okay with the choices you make and your lifestyle then that's all that matters... your mother should accept it sometimes it doesn't work like that but that's what i live by.
thankyouu! i am very happy with my life i love it! just wished she could understand that this is who i am haha
maybe point out to your mom that you could be much worse in her eyes..you could be one of those goth freaks..all fuckin pasty with black eye liner....or a death metal loser that loves the song about killing your parents....a hare krishna....a fag......a 24-7 gamer idiot....addicted to porn.....point out all the things that you are not and the things that you are will seem like a godsend
i went to my first phish concert when i was 14 and my dad came with to keep an eye on me and my friends haha
i told her she could come but she kinda freaked out a little more hahah..my dads not an option since he doesnt really talk to me ! but ill figure it outt
Just remember you need your parents more than you need to watch a Phish show. You'll only have more and more chances to watch your favorite bands as you get older. If you think they might cut you off for going to a show when they say not to, it probably isn't worth it. My parents were smothering to the point of insanity when I was 16-18 and it sucked and I dwelled on it a good bit, but now (Nearly 20) it all seems trivial and it took no time at all to make up for all of it. But it was worth it to not get cut off from my parents. You'll see more life changing shows than you can count by the time you're 20 so just try to think of honest ways to watch the show. If none of them work then just bite the bullet and wait until you get a bit older and get more freedom to do what you want. Just don't do anything you might regret long term for the sake of one good concert because the music will stop playing in three hours and all you'll be left with is the consequences.
I was 18 when I told my parents I was going on tour. I was allowed to go to concerts when I was 16, but I didn't run around telling my parents I smoked pot.
dont ask and just go? its way worth anything that ur mom could give u. dont tell her u went to the concert, say u where at billys.
My mom wouldn't let me to go my first show cause it would be just a friend and I, but then the next show she was like ehh and didn't care. Just keep telling her how you are going with a group and maybe she will change her mind? If not just lie, I was going to..there was no way I was missing that show
if it means that much to you, just go. life's too damn short to just sit around and miss everything you enjoy. you never know what tomorrow brings. plus i guarentee you're mother was no angel when she was sixteen, bring up the "being hypocritical" bit. it might not get you off the hook, but it will get her thinking.
...At 16, my mom wouldn't have asked where I was unless I got back after like 3AM... While I hope to never have kids, but If I did and they smoked pot and liked jam bands I'd be psyched, but I expect that i'd end up with a lame kid like me.
