ok, this is funny because when i was in gr.11 my class had to study this book and everybody was rolling their eyes and complaining but i thought exactly that: you can learn a lot from it. it is simple and strange, i loved it actually

This has been required reading in many schools in the US for several decades now.

    I personally enjoyed it.

I've read it about 5 times, it's one of my favourite books. What I love about it is that when you read it as a kid, you learn something from it, when you read it as an adolescent, you learn other things from it. It matures with you, don't know if that makes sense.

    Yep :D I've read it when I was a kid and it's still a classic children's book.

What I loved most about it was the perspective of the author and the perspective of the Little Prince.

Even though the book is meant for children, there's no harm in adults reading it themselves:D

And that´s the dilemma of the book. I love it, but I don´t guess it´s for children. Tho, there are a lot of adults who still don´t understand it´s meaning.
Of course, I´m not the one who see through the Exupéry´s mind but I´m confused when people see the summary of the book in sheeps and roses.

And I don´t think there is something speaking to children only because of salutation. That´s the reason why are that much children bullshiting on the book, when they learn about it. In my opinion it´s one great book who could show adults how to return to key-stone of our lives which we didn´t know, cause nobody teached us. It´s concealed appeal to adults who live for poor values in pointless world.

There´s not too much children who enjoyed the book cause they don´t understand it. They can not, cause they are not into adult´s thinking.

    (sorry for English)

I cry every time I read this book. I started sobbing in the middle of 10th grade English class. It's a great book, and I'm looking forward to when I can read it in French.

As a child I only knew the little prince form the animated TV series The Adventures of the Little Prince. I really liked it :)

Later I read the book and it was so much more beautiful.

Since I didn't actually read it as a young child, I don't know how I would have reacted to it then. Somehow I still can't quite imagine people rolling their eyes at it. Nobody in my class did, anyway.

    Some people just can't appreciate a metaphor.:frown:
