Definitely the vote for change tour here in st. paul. Bruce Springsteen, REM, John Fogerty, and Neil Young all under one roof!!! Fucking ROCK!!! Peace, Alex
Since I was at this amazing arts camp for almost the whole summer (Interlochen! ), I only got to go to one show, but it was AMAZING. My friend'd cousin snuck me in to see Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and I got to go right up to the stage and Bela gave me a high five and so did Future Man...they was performing with YMSB. It was great, I definitely need to see them again.
the best festival i've gone to all year, even beyond bonnaroo, was a small festival in quincy fla this last weekend called "down on the farm". p groove and moonshine still were awesome. the venue was flawlessly beautiful. security was minimal. the love was flowing, the music was jammin' til dawn and there were a lot of beautiful people there. i'll definately make this one again next year!
I agree with you sprout. They continue to play because they love to play and reminsie the good times with jerry. I heard rumours that it is said that once in a while they feel the prescene of jerry playing with them on the stage and afterwards some odd things happen. i bet its true.
I'm a longtime Deadhead... So I don't say this to criticize my fellows... I have HOURS upon HOURS of Dead recordings, and pretty much every studio album of note remastered in that beautiful box set, Beyond Description. So, I have tons and tons of time invested into the beauty of the Grateful Dead. And I don't criticize anybody for supporting live music, and identifying with music that strikes a personal chord with them. Props to all you beautiful people for loving The Dead, and the spirit that drives them forward...I'm a lover of the tradition and the Vibe, but things have not been the same for me. I, personally, miss Jerry, and the love affair ended when that stratospheric guitar ceased to soar...
the best shows ever put on by anyone has to be the new deal. the energy from one show made my entire life.
