year's closing out, what ya think so far? personally, i think obama will turn out to be carter pt. 2. wont get anything passed except bills far from remedial. while i do blame the republicans for being sour puss ass people who have no respect for what the people want as a whole, obama basically promised a bunch of shit he wont be able to come through on i see obama as too soft to get shit done but I also believe a republican should never be elected president again republicans are literally shitting on the American people just to say obama failed shit is a catastrophe
You have to remember that Democrats have been in control of Congress the last 2 years of Bush's term and that is when we started to get in trouble. Obama as President one year into office makes 3 full years the Democrats have been in charge now and the country is in shambles due to Obama dismantling America with his Appointees. Here is something to look at: Barack Hussein Obama is proceeding to destroy America and has opened up a six-front war to do so: 1. He has a Democratic controlled Congress that is willing to rubber-stamp his wildest schemes, without even reading them…as we’ve already seen. The Democratic Party is now aiding and abetting the demeaning and destruction of America and has become the voice of leftist extremism. The moderates have disappeared or been transformed, issuing only occasional squeaking and whining before following the liberal party line drawn by Obama. Where have all the Democratic moderates gone? 2. Obama has immense executive authority, which he has already used to damage the country. One notable example is his decision to try terrorists in New York City, thereby giving the terrorists the premier platform to broadcast their propaganda and recruit Islamic radicals to their cause. Another example is cap and trade by fiat of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), rather than Congressional action. 3. He is filling the White House, the executive branch and the court system with an army of radicals, socialists, Communists, Marxists, Maoists, and America-haters. The most outrageous example was Van Jones, the avowed Communist and believer that 9/11 was an American plot fashioned by President George W. Bush. Van Jones wasn’t too much of an extremist for the White House -- in fact, he was loved and respected as a key White House adviser, Valerie Jarrett publicly proclaimed at the time of his appointment. But, he was too extreme even for the mainstream media to cover-up and swallow. But, don’t kid yourself -- extremists like that are the rule, not the exception in Obama’s world. 4. He stands ready to commit the U.S. to radical international treaties that will bleed away American sovereignty and commit the nation to destructive policies. Watch what happens in Copenhagen, and watch the directions of Obama in matters of international laws and treaties. He has made it obvious he is more interested in pleasing the international community than in protecting the citizens of America. Couple that with his penchant for bootlicking our enemies, apologizing for America, and kicking around and betraying our allies and you have a prescription for international disaster. Note the betrayal of Poland and Czechoslovakia by his withdrawal of missile defense from those two important allies. He did so to appease Russia, again bootlicking enemies while betraying allies. 5. Obama seems ready to do anything to achieve his ends, a la the formula of Saul Alinsky and his book Rules for Radicals. Alinsky believed the ends justify the means, and that means anything goes. Obama has demonstrated he is willing to lie, use fascist-style tactics to silent critics, and do what it takes to achieve his agenda. He has even expressed his disdain for the U.S. Constitution in his now infamous quote that civil rights litigation and adjudication went off track because it did not focus on redistribution. His comments, record, and policies show he believes in redistribution of wealth, and views capitalism, free markets and profit as all part of a tainted system that is unjust. One of his major priorities is "spreading the wealth around," as he admitted to Joe the Plumber. 6. Finally, the mainstream media is sanitizing and covering up Obama’s worst excesses, as we’ve witnessed with major stories either ignored or almost totally neglected. In recent months, the dishonest, fraudulent, and biased mainstream media virtually ignored Climategate, one of the great scientific scandals of history; the Acorn undercover scandal; and the Van Jones appointment, as well as a long list of other far-out radicals. The mainstream media has become an adjunct of the Obama plan to destroy America, as we know it. This column will focus on the wild leftist radicals that he is packing into the federal agencies and the unconstitutional czars he is filling up the White House with. I question, when America elects a president who spends over 20 years hanging around with terrorists, racists, bigots, anti-Semites, Communists, Marxists, and socialists, what kind of appointments do you think he’ll be making? And, when he packs the White House with such crazies, what kind of policies do you expect to be forthcoming? it seems as though confederate rebel has much more knowledge on politics and recent government... the long passage personally overwhelmed me... but i think both sides are a bit corrupt.... bush ran a campain on fear... obama ran a campain on hope... and i as an american citizen feel i have no control in anything thats happening in our government... what is a democracy in a society of drones? i walk along and it stays the same.. the big men make the big decisions and the rest of america dances around to lady gaga and soldier boy...
There is hope greengirl. You have to take a stand in what you believe and impliment them towards your lawmakers by calling them and confronting them. Form organizations or join one of your choosing that will apply pressure to these guys. Remind them they represent and work for you and you pay their salaries through your tax dollars. America was snowed by Obama who has been more deceitful than any other President. Do you know that he has spent more money than any President in history in a first year as President. He has spent over 3.5 trillion. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/24/obama-shatters-spending-record-year-presidents/ That is unheard of and there are absolutly no jobs to show for it. The Auto Bailouts never worked either. Keep your head high and really look into Sarah Palin who the left and media despises and are terrified of her. There is a reason and that reason is that she is a down home average citizen who holds a job as a commercial fisherman with her husband and is not a elitist like Obama who was never qualified to begin with to be President. He was never vetted by the DNC. Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh7...A9932C09&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=13
Oh yeah,as soon as the republicans get back in,everything will be peaches and cream for the working people of this country. Maybe we can get Bush's crew back in---cheney,rumsfield,etc,and we can re-visit the successes of the last eight years. Obama will never get anything worthwhile done because the repubs will water down anything he tries to get done, like they have the health bill. The 24/7/365 right -wing radio blab fest will keep on denigrating a man that seems to want to fix the damage to which this country has been subjected , and you, rebel ,and those that think like you , will continue to eat limbaugh and hannity's crap right on up. I assume you must be rich or you do not understand the republican party at all.If you are a working person and you vote for republicans, you are voting directly against your own interests. Check out the party affiliation of the presidents that were in office when major depressions occured.
People need to check their expectations with Obama. Too many seem to be expecting him to just pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan the day after being sworn in. With healthcare I wished he'd waited some to see what types of good ideas are out there coming from both democrats and republicans and merged reforms from that. The economy,he should have added more people to his economic team who have worked in the business world. They would probably be giving him better economic advice. Most people on his team seem to be economics professor types.
Personaly I think he's doing a decent job so far, for the task passed to him. I think people are expecting too much too soon, the mess shrub and company left is truely monumental and will take lots of time and resources to clean up. At this time next year is when I will start to expect things to get done. Hopefully the dems will hold all their seats and maybe pick up 1 or 2 more, or else the repubs will block anything he does, so remember to vote in next years election. As for Rebels hopes on sara palin, well I hope it never comes to that
I'd like examples for 2,3, 5 and 6 please. As for 1, the health care bill passed by 4 votes in the house and only passed the senate by removing a good deal of the "leftist" points of it. Big rubber stamp huh? And at Copenhagen the US was against a legally binding agreement. See there's a difference between respecting your allies and other countries and telling the world to fuck off like Bush did, apparently you don't see it. God why do you fail every time you post.
I haven't seen any CHANGE, except change for the worse while enriching the already rich. I had hoped he'd adopt a shelter dog, he chose to adopt a Kennedy pedigree pooch returned to a breeder. I had hoped he'd offer hope to the people of the gulf but he was in Martha's Vineyard on the fourth anniversary of Katrina. I had hoped for health care reform and we are now faced with a mandate and little more. I had hoped for a reasonable position on our current wars, I was deluded. I thought sure Wall St. reform was a given...It hasn't manifested after a year, 1/4 of his elected term, yet bonuses have been received by those that don't deserve them. Will I vote for him again? NO.
Most importantly when he invited Rick Warren to do the innvocation at his innaurguration he probably lost me, but I withheld judgement. But after a year. Sorry he didn't pass his performance evaluation.
I would guess this is all we can ever expect from him: "at least we kind of held ground and there wasn't too much backsliding from where we were." This is his response to the Copenhagen talks. We thought we were electing CHANGE, what we elected was something a whole lot less.
I'am hearing liberals complaining about Obama not fighting for the public option. What is he supposed to do about the democrats who refuse to support health reform if it contains a public option?
What people forget is that even though the democrats were in power in the house and senate after 2006, they only had a slim 49(plus 2 independents)-48 majority in the senate. When you have people like Joe Leiberman and Ben Nelson in our senate, it's hard to get any progressive legislation passed. Plus, anything that the right didn't like was immediatly vetoed by Bush, and the democrats didn't have the votes to overturn a veto. So there wasn't much power there. Basically, the only change we got in 2006 was that the Democrats got new office space. That's it. Also, people tend to think that the president has all this power. He doesn't. He can ask the senate or house to bring up an issue, but basically, the US president doesn't have that much power when it comes to legislation (with the exception of executive orders, military deployment in a limited sense, and judicial appointments). He can rally his base, ask for shit, etc., but that's about it. He's basically a figurehead.
Actually, my friend, Rebel is completely right. In pretty much everything he said. Rebel talks like Washington, Jefferson, Reagan and many other great presidents. Obama is going to make a bigger mess than Carter did. What exactly is limbaugh and hannity's crap? Have you ever listened to them. Do you know of anything they said that was wrong. I would like to hear it. I can't say anything that Oberman, Maddow or Air America says that is wrong, so I won't slander them. More importantly I will slander Van Jones (Communist), John Holdren (idiot), Kathleen Sebelius (anti-business) and Annita Dunn (Maoist) all of whom I have heard or seen video of on conservative talk radio or Fox News. You said working people should vote for the liberals. Why is that?? Did you know that when you lower the tax rate, you can raise the tax revenue. People don't need a hand out from the libs, they need a hand up from the conservatives. People complain that Ronald Reagan cut a bunch of social programs, but he said, and he was right, he said the best social program was a job. People don't want the government standing in their way, they want the government to get the hell out of the way and let them do their jobs. Also, when people are doing well, they contribute a lot to charity. I would be willing to bet, that if the libs would get out of the way and let the economy work the way it's supposed to, the way the constitution was designed, then contributions to charity would skyrocket. Here's an idea, why don't we both go to work (By the way, I'm a technician at $13/hour.) and make our own money rather than some random person take some of my money away and give it to you. How does that make sense. Oh yeah, the repubiks aren't doing much better. They are better because they are not evil. But they are weak. I don't want Bush back. I want a real conservative.
I'll back Rebel up. I'll give you some examples for #3. I just mentioned so if you read my previous thread, you can skip, but I wanna make this easy for you to understand. I'm a little fuzzy on details on some of these, but you get the idea. And my facts are straight. Annita Dunn who is in charge of communications told a college graduation that moa tse tung is one of her two favorite political philosophers. http://michellemalkin.com/2009/10/15/anita-dunn-a-corruptocrat-flack-and-a-mao-cheerleader/ Van Jones was an admitted communist. He was priority number one to get rid of. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otM3pWOBWWk Tim Geithner is a tax cheat. And he is Sec of Treasury. He said he made a mistake. If he can't figure out the tax code, then what the hell am I supposed to do. http://www.forbes.com/2009/01/13/treasury-geithner-obama-biz-beltway-cx_bw_0113geithner2.html John Holdren, science czar, said that new born infants aren't really human beings until they are given proper socializing experiences and proper nutrition. http://www.lonelyconservative.com/2009/09/08/dont-forget-about-radical-science-czar-john-holdren/ There is so much wrong with that article, it's just ridiculous. Talking about forcing people to exercise reproductive responsibility. Where is that in the constitution? I'm done quoting sources, takes too long. But there are more. Kathleen Sebelius, Marc Lloyd, Zeke Emmanuel and of course the main wacko of them all, Barack Obama Who failed now?
