Okay, I've got a terribly uncomplicated interpretation of this song (guy is trying to get girl to straighten up her act because her kicks, her actions that are outside of social norms, are a dead end, which though in the short term are pleasant, in the long run suffer diminishing returns)


is there a less cheesy interpretation I'm just not seeing?

trying to convince kicky girl that her kicks are, and will continue to suffer diminishing returns, and in effect, she should stop seeking them out, as their social inacceptance bears a price that, in light of these diminishing returns, is too high to pay.

 

I don't know.

It seems like a pretty lame song to begin with.
