I told my family I'm not going over for Christmas dinner this year

Now, all hell's going to break loose. I already hung up on my sister, my cousin won't speak to me, my mom is mortally wounded. Hopefully, I or no one else commits suicide...

You're going to have to give me a synopsis of Grinch and how it relates to Christmas.

But, I basically don't like Christmas. I don't like sitting and talking. I certainly don't like talking while eating.

Finally, my relationship with my family is pretty rotten. It isn't more rotten because it's non-existent.

Christmas is a very alienating time for me. It's like, everyone is so excited about something that makes no sense to me. It's kind of like entering a soccer stadium and everyone is rooting for the team which isn't yours.

I've always told myself that I wanted to do this. Now, that I decided not to be a pussy and do it, I'm pretty crushed. But not necessarily repenting.

 

In certain very important ways, yes.

My family is pretty cool with me not going this year, i try to mostly but this year i can't between my agrophobia and a nasty case of gastro i have apparantly picked up

 

I'm not going home for Christmas either. I'm actually rather depressed about it though

I could care less about Christmas anymore. The only thing I look forward to anymore is my annual smoke out with my uncle but I dont think thats going to happen this year But I remember when I was a kid how awesome Christmas was.
