that is not the first hijacking of an aircraft. if by aircraft, we include balloons; then the first hijacking most likely happen in the 18th. century. if you mean airoplains. most likely the first hijacking happen sometime around world war 1. if you mean jet airplains. most likely that was in the 1950's. i remember one hell of a lot aircrafts being hijacked in the 1960's here, in the u.s.a. and, taken to cuba. i'm sorry  but, d.b. cooper was not the first hijacker. as for him have "gotten away with it." no one knows for sure if he did or, if he did not. most likely, we will never know for sure.
I think he got away, sounds to me like a guy who knew just what to do, he was perpared to land in the forest or he wouldn't have jumped off a plane in mid flight. Plus they only found a small ammount of the money out there, No one could pull that off today in a post 9/11 world today though lol.
Yep, the good ole’ days of hijacking a plane for financial, political, or social gain are no more Hotwater
except that wasn't EVEN the "first aircraft was hijacked". lots of them were taken over and flown to unadvertized destinations before that. the cleche' being cuba. nor did cooper "get away" with the loot. it went quietly right back into the banking system it was barowed from. what cooper did was what he was paid to do by the cia that employed him. and that was create a situation that made it possible to scare people into allowing the installation of all that airport security nonsense, which was the beginning of the end of the kind of complete freedom of annonymous movement once enjoyed in so called free america.
it is quite true what many peeps have said, but flying out of tel avive is one mind crushing event. when i flew home last time we got to the airport for atleast 2 1/2 hours early
