Round, voluptuous, and ripe Color ranging from Deep crimson to pastel pink Taut, firm flesh, Begging to be sliced, Only to reveal Row upon row Of soft rubies To be plucked individually - Lips pucker in delight, A natural response As they burst, One by one - The tart, sweet release Beckons color to Unsuspecting cheeks And stains fingers A hot magenta pink- The sin that sealed Persephone's fate The forbidden fruit The pomegranate. -Hippievixen

Thank you for your kind words! Now that pomegranates are in season, every time I taste one my mind is flooded with poetic thoughts. Hehe.
Teehee I knew it was pomegranates you were talking about even before I reached the end. I feel the same way about them, except they frustrate me, being an impatient creature that I am. Good poem.
Only to reveal Row upon row Of soft rubies ~* lush luxurious images spill resplendent, you enthrall, once again

Thanks Day Tripper... I try to keep the imagery flowing... I wrote that poem in my office at the bank... not the most inspiring place... but I had eaten a pomegranate for lunch so it was fresh on my mind!
