Are there any HIM fans here, I mean pre Viva La Bam/Jackass fans? I absolutley love them, they are my favorite friggin band in the world!!! Lyrics, Vocals, Music...breathtaking if you ask me.

 

yep there great i seen em about a month ago the concert annoyed me tho it was full of fuckin 13yr old bam margera groupies no-one wud fuckin mosh grr it sucked but they played a good show

I'm not really a fan, but (and I think I've said many times before ) I always get excited when someone mentions HIM here. I remember when they we're just starting, playing in small clubs in Helsinki and no one really knew them, not to mention liked them. And NOW they're famous all over Europe and also in the US. It's awesome, good for them.

(I'm from Finland by the way, so that explains the excitement)

 

Ok I think it's wrong to not respect respect someones taste for music... but with HIM nd Slipknot and the likes I make an exception... it's fucking depressive, unoriginal popmetal and those lyrics are just about death and all that shite, which is IMO just screaming for attention....

 

How do you compare HIM and Slipknot? It's totally different music, lyrics, and vocals, I mean VERY different. Have you even heard them, they sound nothing like them at all, that is a wierd comparison. They have their own, "Love Metal" category so you cannot compare them to anyone. The lyrics are beautiful.

 

I LOVE HIM. i just saw them twice over the week end it was amazing. The energy at their shows is unlike anyother.. or at least for me.

 

Ville Valo is a genius, i don't knwo any other man alive with his talent and his music is like poetry.. it really is. 100% Romanticism

 

ill give it to you, all slipknot sings, or rather, screams about is death, the devil, and being an outcast. HIM on the other hand is nothing like that. they sing about the dark, scary, mysterious side of love we all know is there, but choose not to notice. i really really hate bands that only sing about love, but with HIM its different. they dont just come out and say "you broke up with me and i love you and im sad", they actually make it poetic and dont sing about the cliche type of love everyone heres in crappy emo songs and whatnot(yes, there are good emo songs. i think you know the type im talking about though). Ville's voice is really badass too. its kind of dark and scary and goth i guess you could say, but its got alot of passion and emotion in it without sounding whiney or bitchy

 

I like them, plus ville is very attractive!

wats everyones fav song?? i prefer old HIM to the new 'love metal' album im not sure why i just find it more listenable (if thats a word lol) siggilum diaboli is my fav song, i was kinda upset when i saw them as they didnt play it but other than that they were good and i enjoyed the show (cathedral were good too)
