I have heard that coleman fuel (so called "white gas") would be a cleaner non-polar solvent than Naptha if my dolphin friends wanted to do this extraction http://www.dextroverse.org/extractions.html is this true? would it work the exact same? If anyone info or experience with this sort of thing, help would be great:D

Are there any other solvents that would be better? Is Naptha good enough?

What are you trying to extract?

But no, Coleman fuel fucking sucks. It has a rust inhibitor in it.

DXM from a mixture of syrups (with only dex) using the agent lemon method.
I am thinking I may just go for naptha, but how clean is it on the whole? Nothing particularly hazardous healthwise?

The coleman fuel? How healthy do you think eating a rust inhibitor is? Go to the hardware store and get VM&P naptha.

BTW, naptha isnt just one solvent. Its a mixture, and the mixture is different for each purpose. Lighter fluid is not the same as VM&P which is not the same as Coleman.

Yes, I see that coleman fuel would not be good, but what about zippo fluid? I thought that it was a relatively good source of naptha. I have used it before and it worked fine, but I'm just trying to make the cleanest extract I can using easily available materials.

So, two products that are "100% Naptha" could be different mixes?
