    i've never had perfect skin.
Confidence in one's personality is easy to accomplish, but after years of treatments and creams and gallons of water every day, my skin still suffers from blemishes. i've seen women (and men) go without anything covering these red splotches and black spots and scars, and they do so with pride, smiling all the while..
i can't even muster the courage to look in the mirror without make up any more. Not without cringing.
It's not that my skin is that bad, either, but it's just not.. even. The skin tone. Pimples would be easy to deal with if i just had an even skin tone.

Today i dared myself to go without makeup. Without anything to cover the slight dark circles under my eyes, or the hormonal, once-a-month-outbreak across my forehead.. But i can't do it.
The thought of someone seeing a red spot or dark shadow makes my knees go weak.

How do you get the courage to broaden the confidence in one's self from just personality and morals and ethics to.. physical appearance?
And why is it that i'm in love with my residual baby weight, the valleys and hills of my body, but i can't manage to love what holds me together?

Or is it just a matter of time?

    Most sincerely,

    S.

The confidence you’re referring to is something you slowly develop from infancy. we’re all our own harshest critics; so as we overcome life’s challenges we keep a mental note of it in the back of our minds.

managing to overcome even life’s simplest obstacles as a child is often how we ultimately judge and define ourselves [IMG]
