I've been thinking about writing a Lesbian orientated children's book, mostly towards the children of Lesbian parents. I want all your opinions from that. I've gotten a lot of flack for the idea already, mostly from pastors and insecure heterosexual ppl . L_S
Kids with gay parents are normally the most aware of this kind of thing. It's really the others who need to be taught. But still, go for it! Anything that raises awareness can only be a good thing, right?
Many ppl have said so far that I should "discourage" them from being gay, I say that it has nothing to do with encouraging or discouraging, but promoting tolerance. I believe that it definitely is a good thing L_S
Well see, the problem there is ignorant people who believe that homosexuality is something that can be taught. I dunno about "encouraging". Encouraging kids to think that there's nothing wrong with being gay is definitely a good thing. I dont think you can encourage kids to be gay, just be taught that there's nothing wrong with it. Some ignorant people still think sexuality can be ''taught'' and there's really no reasoning with people like that, as they are so ingrained in their ignorance, and they are happy to be. I definitely think you should write the book.
I think it's a great idea. I know there was a children's book about two gay men (parents), so it makes perfect sense to also have a children's book about lesbian parents. I wish you much good luck. --QP
