I'm an ice hockey player, so maybe i'm biased But I find ice skating is really easy. I think the biggest problem most people have when learning is they start slow and follow the barriers of the rink- so they have something to hold on to. Whilst this is a great thing if you are learning, it also means your skating whilst standing up strait. Many will find it pretty hard to stand tall if they are in that position, much like if they were skiing. You need to put your back into it and bend your knees, not fear the center of the ice and get some momentum going. I love skating and it is much like walking after a while. I really recommend and good luck!
Wonderful Lol...I wish i was younger when i started to have these kind of ideas...Iam still young now just these days i gotta find a job and other life things Lol...How long does it normally take to learn?
Actually I never really gave it much thought it was just one of a list of things to do during the winter for fun when the local pond froze over hotwater
Ice skating is amazing, I love it. It makes you feel free, well it does when you don't have men darting around the place trying to impress some girl. I might go tomorrow.
ice skating IS awesome, but since i haven't been out in while, i'm sure i need to learn how to stop again, darn that crazy shit. skateboarding is radder
If you can roller blade you can ice skate . It's pretty easy to get the basics...I just can't stop haha.
It’s great right up until the moment you’re permanently disfigured https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbvR90D5Q1Q"]YouTube- Jessica Dube gets hit by ice skate Hotwater
i use to play hockey from when i was about 6 to when i was 13 so ice skating is second nature to me, but i could describe it as gliding. i would say that you could learn it in one day if you just keep at it the whole day (of course not well) that may just be me though because i find it so easy.
oooohh ouch! I used to figure skate... Not too hard to learn to skate but I found it difficult to learn how to stop. Once you learn though, you'll never forget
I threw my ice skates out at 15 for basketball and have no regrets BTW: there are other videos of the accident in which you can see blood gushing from the laceration Hotwater
i can sort of rollerblade but im pretty shit at ice skating. i only know of one ice rink in the city though so i've only been a couple of times. I much prefer skiing, now that is something I can do well and it's soooo much more fun than skating.
