i have a small 2br apartment i share with 1 roommate. its only 2 bedrooms, bathroom, and a kitchen(no living room) and its $795 a month so i pay 397.50 and that is rent/heat/water and then gas is usually pretty cheap like $20-30 a month and electric is usually $30-40ish. we just have cable internet and basic cable(for some reason that package was cheaper than just internet) and its $32/person each month. thats about it besides food but i live off cheap food lol
that post wasnt for the thread it was just conversation....................... and for a lot of peoples utilities like electric is with the electric bill and whatnot... Your best bet would be to ask around town look at places and see what its like there.
it usually IS cheaper to live off campus does that help? don't you know anyone that DOES live off campus? ask them all i can tell you is electric - $20-60/month for two people who don't use a lot i would plan on your share being $50/month like i said before, water and heat are included for me. and i don't have anything that runs off gas. my basic cable/internet is $55/month. wonka you're gettin screwed so you could plan on $50/month for that too, if you are gonna get better cable with more channels. you could probably figure 100 for food but that is kind of a wild guess
i have a 2 bedroom/1 bath upstairs apartment, and i live with 1 other person.. we pay between 150-250$ for gas in the winter (we heat with gas).. in the summer its very cheap.. like 20-40$ a month, because besides heat the only other things that use gas are the hotwater tank, and the oven/stove, which we dont use too much.. you can get on a budget billing plan after a couple months, which will take like an average of what you are paying per month, and lock you in at that price.. so you can use any amount of gas and still pay one flat rate per month.. the only down-side to this is that in the summer, you will still be paying that one rate (which could be about 150-175ish).. and like i said, in the summer, we hardly use any gas so we only pay 20-40$ a month.. depending on how warm you like your place, it may be worth looking into.. we dont do it, but a lot of my friends do.. electric is pretty cheap 40-60$ a month. oh yea the water/trash pickup bill is every 4 months, and is like 45$.
Expect to pay $100 a month for heat if its cold. $50 for electricity if your conciensous turning stuff off. More in the summer for fans A/C. Add hot water $30-60, to appropriate bill (gas, or electric). You know how much food costs. Overestimate a little. Good luck.
where are you attending school? I live downstate ny, I rent a medium sized room - bathroom - terrace and thats it. I pay 600 a month which includes utilities, cable tv(only watch sports if i even have the time for that..) and internet (he hooked me up for free). Living in one room sucks man, i have a refrigerator and a small stove and a counter on one side of the room as well. Its very tight , but i am just happy I can live on my own. i know thats expensive just for a room. I am thinking of making the great escape from ny soon
I spend $600 on food per month feeding 2 adults and 2 toddlers. My heat is $175 in the winter and elec is about $100. I live in Alaska in a mobile home, so this is probably alot to you guys. We don't really eat out, we cook all our meals at home. You can find an apartment that includes utilities.... That is the bestest.
after considering what people posted you should also ask for utility rates, call your local companies in whatever city you are looking for..do this for electric, gas, water, sewage, trash (not all landlords will include these in rent), parking don't forget cable, internet, phone, emergencies, etc.... shit adds up quick
you asked stoners, stoners digress badly, you know that! we are 2 adults and 1 toddler living in a 2 bed 2 bath apartment for $780/month i stay at home, hubby pulls in about $1800/ month our utility bill is between $45 and $60 usually, thats electric and gas. we do try to conserve where we can. we buy food in bulk at sams, and stuff on sale at the regular grocery. try not to spend more than $2 a pound on any meat. i buy carrots and celery in bulk and chop them and freeze them myself. lots of beans and pasta for the harder times (ie, we pay car ins twice a year, it always stretches the budget) it really depends on rates where you are, and how far you are willing to go to save money. if you prep and freeze your veggies and meat you can save a lot of money (i take a pork loin from sams about $11- $15 worth of meat, and cut it down into 1.5- 2 lb roasts. each roast feeds my family 2-4 times, and its worth the bit of extra work to cut down the roast label and freeze. ) you could have a small garden, which would cut down costs of your favorite veggies, or herbs. you can make a point of unplugging electronics when they are not in use, using less heating and cooling in the winter and summer, blah blah theres all sorts of ways to save money. i need more weed now.
i live in a big farm house, with 1 other person. our rent is $500/month with 5 bedrooms and one bath. our elec this month was $200, but we have been running elec. heaters to conserve our propane. we don't have a gas bill, we use propane for heat. we just filled the tank half way and it cost $360. this will last about a month and a half- two months. we eat kind of expensive i think, usually spend $10-20 a day on food for both of us, so anywhere from $300-600 a month on food.
Uhhh, I'm saving $1000 a semester just from leaving school housing, which I shared with just one other person. Now, I live in a nice apartment with 4 other people (2 bathrooms) and we each pay $750 a month, which includes everything but internet and electricity I believe. When split it's usually like $7+ each. For food, we dumpster most of the stuff but every now and then I'll buy a few things for myself, or go out and eat.I've never spent more than $50 on groceries.IT's usually best if you go shopping with your roommates and share certain things to save you money.
i pay $450/mo for rent of a 1 bed/1bath duplex apt.. utils incl.... food.. if i have the money.. i can spend $150-200/mo on groceries.. i work in a kitchen though.. so that helps keep food bills low ... my car is great on gas.. so twice a month i can fill the tank and usually be set... warmer weather i bike... cell phone bills is $80/mo...
Full tender loins are a great steal at bulk food stores like Sams.. because buying individual tenderloin steaks will cost you an arm and a leg.. while you can get it at under $2.00/lb at a Sams.. just gotta learn some simple meat carving/cleaning and you are good to go
Holy shit you guys pay a fuck lot for rent. Here, out in the countryside you can get a 3 bedroom bungalow for about €150-€200 a month including electricity and usually heating. 3 of my friends are living in a 4 bedroom farmhouse for €80 a month each and our other friend who recently moved out now has his own 3 bedroom bungalow for €80 a month and his landlord gives him a 1/4 of nice homegrown each month too :sifone:. The city is of course more expensive but in a country this size transport is quick and easy
You cant snowboard in Ireland full stop! Our mountains are too small, not snowy enough and covered in burnt out cars some really rough mountains actually...KErry mountains have seen some huge mushroom hauls actually...I did go skimboarding in the snow though Edit: wait..hold on..its not as if you can snowboard in the city...where else are you going to apart from the countryside!?
But you can pick thousands of fresh psychedelics in mushroom season, sell them, and pay for the travel costs and your day on the hill. Though I would just kick it in Ireland and trip/go to one of the crazy raves he's always talking about.
