People's conception of the danger of smoking has really been horribly warped. People really think their health is in danger from being around a smoker for a few minutes. It's also a kind of self-righteous thing, which we're seeing here. All that said though, I should quit smoking pretty soon. I don't want to make it a lifelong thing :p

Tobacco should be illegal. A highly addicting substance that is very unhealthy. Weed is illegal, and its not even half as addicting.

I doubt that being around a smoker for a few minutes will harm me. In small doses, it's more a nuisance, like bad breath or farting. Just one of those little things that lowers the quality of life. In larger doses, second hand smoke permeates clothing, hair and furniture. It's ugly, sick and unpleasant. I don't need medical research to know I'm better off without being around bad breath, farting or second hand smoke.

Exactly.^^ I know that i'm getting chems in me and i know it smells bad so its just annoying more than anything. It's kinda like the other day I walked right behind a bus and inhaled a huge hit of exhaust. That was like even worse than second hand smoke.

Cigerettes don't even kill people any faster than obeisity does. People shouldn't be allowed to eat cheezeburgurs in public. Then eventualy we can outlaw cigs and junk food.

    Maybe...
    Just maybe...
One day we can turn into comunist china

That's the country I one day want to live in

How is a cheeseburger junk food? Its pure protien. The only way you can call it junk food if its from burger king or mcdonalds.

Unless you're lifting weights, which most people who are eating cheeseburgers are not, pure protein is not good for you, nor is massive amounts of fat and cholesterol. There's no difference between a Mcdonalds cheeseburger and a homemade one, in fact the only difference is is the homemade one is probably going to be bigger and even more unhealthy.

Thats bs, protein is always good for you even if you aren't working out it still adds muscle.

No, it doesn't. You don't add muscle unless you work it, otherwise the calories in protein add up like everything else. The body itself will only use as much protein as it needs and the rest of the amino acids are converted and generally expelled through urine. Having a complete lack of protein would result in some muscle loss, but the average person gets enough protein in their diet from milk and grains by themselves, let alone meat. Most protein rich foods are also high in fat and cholesterol which leads to the main problem of mass protein consumption.

Actually ironically in China, and Japan smoking is still very popular, at least among men, I think over 50% of males still smoke there.

Fine... I personaly don't like tabacco much, and think it's kinda gross.

But if they take away peoples right to put it in their bodies... I will be majorly depressed.

Putting addicting shit in your body that shortens your lifespan is part of what being American is all about.

    And it won't stop there

Yeah I seriously would be depressed about taking away the rights of what people put in their body, except thats already how it is!! Drugs are illegal. Tobacco is legal. WTF they might as well keep weed illegal and legalize meth.

Yeah, but it would be a step back instead of a step forward.

We might be going slowly, but if weed is legalized it's a step forward.

You'll know were fucked when they crimanalize the plant that started this country, all the founding fathers smoked, and if we decide it's wrong you know to give up hope

Nah, none of the founding fathers really smoked, no one in the west really smoked at that time. As with most people at the time the founding fathers were raging alcoholics, especially Franklin, and Washington had the largest brewery in America. Hemp itself was a massive industry for it's fibers. It actually came back in WW, farmers in Kentucky and the Tennessee valley were encouraged to grow hemp for the war effort.
