I know saunas are amazingly healthy, but I can go to a steam room sometimes now but no more saunas for me. I have a question about steam rooms, are they even worth taking considering that the steam might (probably is) full of chlorine? Because when you are that hot your pours open up, with all that steam when you do it harcore is it getting alot of chlorine in your body? Probably not as much as a hot tub but compared to a swimming pool mabey? (I don't swim in pools hardly ever) So in the end is it worth it or do you get more shit in your body than you started out with? I am guessing you get more chlorine, but it gets other toxins out.

I'm still deciding whether or not I think that absorption through the skin is of any concern, as I haven't reviewed any studies to indicate exactly how severe the absorption would be.

If you would rather err on the side of safety you could turn up the heat, put heavy clothing on and exercise to achieve that sort of level of sweating. Might be a bit of a hassle though. I`ve started wearing a heavy toque when I work out but that alone doesn`t produce the level of sweating from a steam room.

shower up real good before hand if you went swimming before. everyone should be showering beforehand anyways before going in that sort of environment.

i wouldn't worry about it outside of that

Yeah, you do know taking showers puts more chlorine in your body than anything else? Mabey not as much as a hot tub lol. Yeah saunas are the best, I just know when i'm in the steam room I'm getting lots of chlorine because when you are hot it does open your pours.
Saunas are so amazing when I get one I will take one every single day guranteed.

Of course, all this could be solved by living in the country where you have your own water well.

Then you could sauna, steam bath, shower or bathe without worrying about chlorine.

and it's pores... pours is what you do with your drink

Never bothered with saunas so I cant say. If they're only good because of sweating, then I would say you're spending your time better excercising to sweat and killing two birds with one stone. The movement would probably stimulate your body more than sitting there lazy-man style sweating.

Yeah saunas are amazing. Theres no way that exercise can ever compare to an hour long hot sauna. You literally pour sweat out of your body when you are in there, just drains all of your toxins. Then you take a really cold shower right as you are getting out and washes all of the sweaty toxins off of your skin. After the sauna is the best part. My two favorite feelings in the world are: getting high on weed and lsd together, and getting out of a sauna. It feels like you are on heroin all warm and cozy and delerious. You have to try it neone.

When you first get out of the sauna and into the shower, you should have the water as hot as you can stand it for the first couple of seconds to wash everything you just sweated out, off your body, then switch it to cold.

If you go right into a cold shower, all you do is trap some of it back into your pores as they slam shut....

Well, it depends on the steam room whether there is chlorine or not.

I wouldn't think that you would absorb very much of the toxins anyways, because you are sweating so much and should shower after.
