New dreads... I'm hoping these turn out to be true works of art because all that backcombing was horrendous.
Did you just get those backcombed? They look pretty cool. I'm hopefully getting my hair backcombed in the next couple months! Do you need those elastics on the end of your new dreads to help them knot stay together and knot or something?
I've just spend about 35 minutes putting aloe on them.... I only finish about 1/3 to 1/2 of them.... >.< They're all between the size of my pinky and thumb and I have like 60-80 of them... I never knew I had so much hair..
Brand new. This is day 3 for some and day 1 for some. ( They're like a foot long and I had like about 75 of them so I was too lazy to do it all in a day )
You don't have to have them but I think it helps, and also since the tips naturally puff out after backcombing, if you put elastics on them it makes them look somewhat less amusing while they're maturing.
eeek: bands, I'd take them out fo sho. when I first did my hairs I's spend ages putting aloe on, a lil bit is fine though, just put it in your hair upside down real quick. it prolly won't need it for a while, I don't use it anymore as it left my hair feeling crispy. I just condition every few months. dey look goot though!
yeah you backcombed em real well. They'll probably be tight in a few months with the way they're looking. hah.
To me it just looks like sectioned off hair with elastic in it xD Maybe its the camera? You'l know in about a week or so though I guess xD
I'm volunteering my head for scientific researched.. I waxed 2 of the dreads ( out of about 77... no big loss if it kills them. ) I'll have the gunk in for about 4 days then I'll try to wash it out and see what happens. ( not that anything -complete success of total failure- could change the concrete opinions of anyone who visits this site )
(by the way.. initial reaction to the 2 waxed dreads is that its nasty... and kinda sticky a bit... it's indeed like having a hair-candle on my head)
