Hey, I bought some shrooms and will be trying them for the first time this Friday. I'm 99% sure these are legit as I bought from a close friend. The caps look to have completely disintegrated into dust and chunks. Is it ok to still eat that cap dust?

Also does anyone have a good way to eat them? Can they be boiled or cooked in the oven? I really don't like the taste of mushrooms so any recipes will be appreciated. ;)

    Thanks!

I usually grind them up and put them in capsules, or just eat them whole. You can make tea or lemon tek them if you like. But yea, you can eat them if they powderize and turn into dust.

Put it all on a PB sandwich and you wont even taste them.

They should be fine. Theyre all crushed up because they were properly dried, but mishandled.

Personally, I think the best way is to just choke them down and wash it down with something tasty.

Yep, Like stated above, you can eat the dust. I sometimes grind my shrooms up to eat in chocolates or ice cream.

But I do recommend tea for dried shrooms, it will definitely help with digestion, and probably take away feelings of nausea.

You can also cook mushrooms or bake with them, although I would not do that unless I had fresh mushrooms.

I usually just chop up or grind up the mushrooms and mix them with some kind of chunky ice cream. Something with nuts and chocolate.

I didn't think you could bake with mushrooms, I always use no bake chocolate to make desserts with them.

Try it.:D Ive cooked freshies in a lot of different ways, Including deep fried.:D:D
Cooking them makes them palatable and fully digestible. The only type of mushroom I would recommend eating raw is a white button mushroom. Otherwise you may feel nausea, gas, etc.

I eat fresh cubes all the time...

So you can bake with them fresh only, or dried too? Deep fried mushrooms would be the shit!

Both, but I would grind up the dried ones.

I always grind up the dry ones and make raspberry truffles to die for. I am going to start experimenting...

I'm going to try the barbecue soon. Mushrooms marinated with Italian dressing as suggested by another magic mushroom cooker.

Ill probably wrap them in foil before putting them on the grill.

You havent noticed any potency loss by cooking with them? Psilocybin starts to degrade at around 140 F or so.

Nope. How could I notice potency loss anyway? The majority of mushrooms I eat are from spore not isolate...yet. But anyway yes I still trip. In my opinion, long term exposure to heat will lower potency, but not short term(up to a certain degree(I cook at double 140+)). I sometimes also dry above 140 and the shrooms always come out more potent than anything Ive purchased from a dealer. The famous roger rabbit cooked mushrooms at 1000* and didn't notice potency loss.

I have a lot of room to experiment because shrooms are like 20 cents an eighth. But luckily I have never had a cooking experiment go bad. In fact I prefer to cook freshes because I get no nausea or gas.

Try it out, I'm sure you have room to experiment. :)

Oh and although a deep fryer will reach oil temperatures of like 350, the mushroom inside the batter will not get that hot, plus it only goes in for a quick dip.

Can you source me for your degradation temperature?

Because mushrooms from the same flush will most likely be damn close in potency. And if you wann learn to iso, hit me up. Its not too hard.

RR says a lot of shit thats close, but not quite right.

Ive got a cap or 2 lying around, lol.

Well I dont have a deep fryer, but I might be able to try something.

No, man, IDK where to find it. Just one of those things I picked up over the years. Im sure you could Google it.

Thanks, Ive done liquid culture cloning, but I could always use help with agar. Ive seen one of your pe6 isos, very nice!

Agreed. But grilling a mushroom on a barbecue, eating it, and tripping is something that either works or doesn't, he says it works. I will test it myself soon.

Marinate, Pan fry. Low heat, light browning. Sop up any liquid left with a small piece of bread.

Ive looked it up before, and have never found a straight answer so I took it upon myself to experiment. Many can confirm that drying with heat is not harmful, and other daring people can confirm that cooking correctly is not harmful.

Thanks. That had nothing to do with agar, though. Ill teach you what I know about it, but its not much.

But it might degrade some, but not to the point that they become inactive. Ive got a few guinea pigs, though. Ill find out.

A lot of the reason behind the confusion is because of varying levels of purity in the extraction, and the salt form they end up with.

I dry with mild heat. They never get over 97 F.
