Sorry to hear about your short experience with da dreadlocks. I do have to agree with whoever said "props for posting about it". lol I'm really getting a kick out of this thread. If it were up to me, I think I would sticky it. =)

That's unfortunate Yelgath. Good luck on attempting to get your next set of dreadies.
Also: Something for you to think about is, if you can't handle your hair looking messy and awesome in the first week alone, then maybe a hairstyle like dreadlocks isn't for you? They require lots of time, patience, and persistence to look great. Hopefully you have those qualities by the time of your next attempt.

It wasn't that I couldn't stand it for a week it was that morons told me hair can lock in a couple months, and when I realized it would actually take more like a year I brushed them out because this is not a good time for me to look like a wretched fool. But yes I do need to wait until I have more patience and chill time.

It's a glorious blasphemy though. I sometimes get so excited about how attractive I am that I touch myself.

So ya did your dreads, then did research, and realized. OH, it takes time like a year or so, not just a couple months. Well I think you are kind of the moron for not doing your research before you did your dreads.

I did do my research before I did my dreads. Problem is, there's one side of people that seem sane and claim dreads lock fast, then on the other side there's a bunch of hippies, most of which probably only have a fraction of their brain cells left do to excessive drug use, who say don't use anything just wait a freakin long time and eventually one day they'll lock. I listened to the people that seemed sane, but it turns out the hippies actually knew what they were talking about for once.

considering half the people here were fooled by the knottyboy shit I don't really think you're such a moron. At least not necessarily for that reason.

HAHAH thats so true and funny! but talk to the new age hippies around here, they use wax and shit, and backcomb the crap out of there dreads. I think its just a lot of people expect to have dreads in a matter of a couple months, I see what you are saying. My friend had dreads in high school, backcombed to hell and waxed as fuck.. Everyone thought he had the awesome dreads, well my hubby also had dreads at the same time, he went more of a natural route, he just use a few rubberbands and backcombed a little, no wax or anything. Well it was taking longer for his to dread, and people would make fun of him, because they were going by the other kids waxy insta dreads. My hubby ended up brushing cuz he thought he was doing something wrong, sad really cuz i loved them and they would have be amazing dreads.
Even now, my friends think they should look like my friends old dreads, no thanks. He ended up cutting because they never knotted and wouldn't grow, just thinned out in the end. so snip snip..

You didn't deserve dreads and you never will. If your hair looked half as foolish as this post I'm not surprised you combed them out.

Actually, a lot of us have degrees and use drugs so we have more than "a fraction" of our brain cells. I agree with Capt Cannabis. You don't deserve dreads with that attitude.

Did my drug reference offend you, Mr. CANNABIS?

Did HDH just complain about attitude?
