Hey, all. First time posting (I think), lovelt to meet you all. Anyway, I too am planning my first pilgrimage to sacred Amsterdam and I have a question regarding budgeting. I'm trying to gauge how much I'll be spending on weed. I'm planning to be there for 8 or 9 days. I'm just not sure how long each gram will last me. How many grams are in a typical bowl or joint? I take it the answer is different if I'm buying weed or hash, yes? Hash is more potent, isn't it? I've only smoked it one other time before. Let me also give you a brief overview of my smoking history since I believe that will effect how hard it'll hit me and thus how much I'll need to buy. I was a regular smoker from 2004 to 2007. Since then, I've been teaching English in a country where smoking is very not advised as it would get you thrown in prison and/or deported. I'm currently back home on vacation between jobs and I've had the great pleasure of smoking three or four times. By the time I get to Amsterdam, it'll have been about six months since I smoked. Basically, I'm not a virgin, but I'd say my lungs are no longer use to it. So whaddaya think; how long will a gram last me? You think a gram a day would be sufficient? I use to buy it in 1/8ths and that'd last me a couple weeks as I recall, but that's ounces. You CAN still buy it and smoke it in Amsterdam, yes? I keep hearing about new laws trying to shut all the coffeeshops down. Anyway, thanks in advance. See you in the Dam soon.
Starting at the bottom and working up this time...lol Those rumors are always floating around worry not!!!!! Nextly...OK this 8 or 9 days will not be like your usual 8 or 9 days at home where you might smoke once or twice a day. I'd say on average YOU will prolly do 2 or 3 grams a day. When I go I do about 4 or 5 grams a day, however i'm a daily heavy smoker. In other words you won't be smoking just once or twice a day. The average joint rolled (Not bombers or blunts mind you) are usually 1/2 to 3/4 of a gram each. Then again it depends on the potency of the weed you buy and how much of a lightweight you are...LOL Yes hash is usually more potent and you will definatly use less hash in a mix joint(weed & hash) than weed. As a rule of thumb, this goes for weed as well as hash, the more expensive the product the more potent. Not always 100% true but is for the most part. I'll tell you the same thing I tell everyone going for their first time. Any well respected coffeeshop will have a budtender that knows his/her shit. Dont be afraid to talk to these people that's what they are there for. Tell em your situation and what your looking for and they will generally steer you in the right direction.
Thanks for giving me an idea of how much I'll need a day, man. You think 2 or 3 grams'll be okay? That's cool. 5 grams a day seems like it'd get pretty expensive. I didn't know you could roll hash AND weed into one joint. I've only smoked hash one other time and that was with knives. I never got really good at joint rolling. I hope it's not too hard when I get there. Maybe I should get my hands on some papers and watch some YouTube videos and practice. Anyway, thanks again, man.
buy a gram, smoke it. then an amazing thing happens!!! You run out of weed, and then guess what!!? YOU GO BUY ANOTHER GRAM!! WOW, amazing!!! what a concept!!!
Right, I know, but I'm trying to figure out in advance how many grams a day I'lll be buying so I know how much money I'll need.
Omeo, What I did when I first started smoking was to either get a pouch of tobacco or a few crushed up cigs(Just use the same tobacco over and over) and a few packs of papers and practice. You'll be a seasoned roller in no time!!! Yes you can put both in one joint. I do it by layering one layer of weed across the paper and I make a snake out of the hash and put another layer of weed and do on and so on. Just make sure you get the snake pretty thin or it won't burn fast enough. I used to do knives when I was younger and still have the scars to prove it...LOL I still say the best way to enjoy hash is either in a wooden bowl or a bong with just a little weed under it. ENJOY MON!!!!
Weed in Holland is not like any other place on this Planet, so be relaxed with using it, everybody got a big mouth i smoke 3 grams i smoke five grams, only there is a big difference i quality so please if you also want to enjoy your stay mellow out instead off getting paranoid,and see only foodshops, i am involved in concerts and see a lot off internatonal stars drop half dead because they were so called heavy smokers, i belief when you smoke a gram a day you have the time off your life, if you smoke more get a hotel with roomservice,and internet connection so you can make a web tour Amsterdam cuz more you dont see Mariwonder
I totally agree. that's why I was saying start out with a gram, see where that takes you. This city is an amazing city, there is so much to do and see, being stoned is only one aspect of the city, and it makes (as it does most things in life) it that much more enjoyable....well, simply knowing you can buy it with no fear of any legal ramifications makes it simply more enjoyable. everyone has there own way of enjoying it, but if you're not getting around the city (because you're stoned) other than the FEBO auto-mat, you're short changing yourself
How much does a gram of fair grade Cannabis roughly cost in a coffeeshop? High grade? And possibly a couple brownies?
Thats not too bad, about average for the weed I get here and possibly even cheaper than the High grade weed I get medicinally.
