I walk around barefoot everywhere. I started getting these deep cracks in my feet and its just getting deeper. It doesn't go straight down but more sideways. Every time I step down I feel the pain. Here's the bad part....I've been "clipping away" the dead skin around it, exposing raw skin. So now realizing I"m my own worst enemy, I've quit the clipping, but the cracks aren't healing. In fact, I now have a sore area around my pinky toe. Is it fungus? Because I had a friend who had ringworm on his foot and I got it on my hand, but in a much different fashion then whats going on with my feet. I'm going to call the dr tomorrow but I just wanted opinions. Thanks!
yeah, call the doc, just to be on the safe side. it might be a fungus; it could be a lot of other things too, most likely nothing major. worst case, it might be (i stress the words 'might be') that you are pre-diabetic. at your age that is highly unlikely though. don't pick off that dead skin! let it peel on it's own. give your feet time to toughen up. be sure to check back with us here, and let us know how your doing.
well i have a dr's appt but they're actually healing. i haven't been walking around barefoot everywhere and keeping them extra clean. the pain is gone even though there is still some crackage. i guess a lesson learned. don't pick your feet, it can hurt!
I always used Teat Balm.Dairies use it on cow udders and it is really soothing and softens and heals very nicely. It's consistancy is like vasoline but smells very nice.
start wearing shoes and socks humans that can't protect their body don't last very long clothing and foot protection is the way that humans transcend their physical condition. clothing and footwear are tools that humans use to protect themselves. by shunning such things you are sending yourself back to the stone age.
haha guy you dumbass, humans are only weak because they have made themselves weak. In fact you have it ass backwards. Shoes are really what is going to cause the detriment to your entire physical body, not your skin doing something natural like thickening up.
Worse. Then they started to hurt on a regular basis. Now I use a pumice stone to remove most of the excess skin periodically so that the cracks are less than you show here.
That looks like you have a problem there, I do not wear shoes either and my feet actually never got cracks in them. Your diet probably isnt high enough in fat so your skin isnt being lubricated well enough. Cracked painful skin on your feet from going barefoot is not natural, since being in pain is not natural and is your body trying to tell you that there is a problem (which is not from going barefoot, but its easy to pass it off as that)
That pic doesn't look like a healthy heel. It seems you may be at risk for blood poisoning. That's why people are told to not scratch chicken pox. I have no medical training whatsoever, but thats my only concearn. Happy barefooting.
