Book is pretty decent once you get past the Welsch or whatever. Ever read "Acid House" by the same author? Not nearly as good.
No, but Porno (the sequel to Trainspotting) is not bad. I tried reading Glue, it was boring. I need hilarious rape or pub fight scenes within the first 20 pages in order to grab my attention.
Yeah, that's the only thing that really excuses the illegibility of the language and the sub-par writing.
Brilliant movie and a modern day classic. Gives a great insight into the smackhead lifestyle. Oh, and much better then Slumdog Millionaire if you ask me (Its a great movie, but overrated)
I really enjoyed it when I first went to see it in the cinema, but everyone went on about it too much and I was made to sit down and watch it three times more more. Then I just got fed up of it and, although it was good, wandered why it was worthy of so much fuss
trainspotting and pretty much of all welsh's writing of the nineties is about the only social commentary worth paying attention to for that era top stuff
trainspotting is excellent, spun is unrealistic but still good, requiem for a dream kinda sucks but has a good soundtrack. A scanner darkly is an amazing drug movie.
