haha, I love the wikipedia game, just keep clicking on links in the article, all of a sudden 4 hours have gone by. You start off on say the German 1st Panzer army article, wind up on commerce in the Roman empire

 

yeah it's insane, it blows my mind that there is such a massive wealth of information available through the click of a button 24 hours a day.

i read "To Kill a Mockingbird" much earlier (somewhere between 7th and 9th grade) and i agree that it is a great book. that and "Number the Stars" were among my favorite school inflicted books. "Slake's Limbo", "Hatchet", "Night", "Island of the Blue Dolphins" and so many more. how is it that these stories dont inspire reading for fun anymore? oh, thats right. the internet has taken over the simpler pleasures (which coincidentally you can learn about on the internet. ) excuse me while i go back to braiding rugs and making my own curtains.

 

I think Roger Waters summed up the future of western civilization pretty good:

Ive always used the internet for learning, literally anything you could possibly want to know is right there. I gave up on tv when I was about 10 though well apart from the news but a lot of that is just fear mongering, murders happen everyday, why not have a happy, inspiring article once in a while
