I'm loving all the people who won't accept that you don't need rubber on your feet to use them for what they're for. And no, I'm sorry, having shoes is the sole reason for foot odor in most cases, moisture, fungus, and the like do not occur on healthy bare feet.
i did have to convince my husband of that and have him leave off the shoes for a while. his feet are much better now.
OK you have your wish... http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?p=6134313#post6134313 let's have at it.
Take your shoes and socks off, put your feet together, heels touching, if your big toes form a "V" away from each other, your feet have been deformed by shoes. Most people in the US have the deformed "V" shaped big toes from wearing shoes. Feet that have not been deformed by shoes should have the Big toes touching or at least close to parallel.
Also, whatever happened to the OP? I started reading this thread to see what states people thought were unfriendly to barefooting and why and the next thing I know this whole barefoot versus shoes thing breaks out and no one is talking about the OP. Are you guys on drugs or something?
If you don't wear shoes or at least socks you don't put your feet on my bed, in fact I made an awesome sign that says so. Same goes for summer, if you're wearing sandals, myself included, no feet on my bed, 1st time you get shot as a warning.
hooray, shoes haven't ruined my feet yet! well, barefoot unfriendly states would be any states with seasons or dirty cities. so that discussion is now complete. on the other hand, barefoot versus shoes goes for 11 pages. besides, it's not really about barefoot versus shoes anyway. this thread has become more about thinking for yourself versus following trends for the sake of appearing "hippie."
So you like sweaty, stinky feet that have been in shoes all day long in or on your bed. Makes sense to me.
I'd rather socks absorb the sweat then my damn sheets unless there's springs bouncing. Considering you spend more time on you bed in your life then any single other place I tend to like it clean.
