hi everybody. one of my cats is very sick. we brought her to the vet a couple times already. the vet drained a cyst a few days ago and then today took out the stitches. my cat is very sick though with some unknown infection. its body temperature is down below normal. it can hardly move and is obviously in alot of pain. the vet game it some anti-biotics and something for nausea, but nothing for pain. i have some oxycontin (oxycodone) pills, and was wondering if it would be safe to give a little to her. i cant find any information about oxycodone and cats anywhere. please does anybody know if this is safe?!? i want to help my cat but i dont want to do anything dangerous. i know that the dose would be very small for a nine pound cat, maybe 1mg, i just dont know if oxycodone is toxic to cats or not. if anybody has any info on it please let me know asap. thanks everybody peace -Blitz
I honestly don't know whether oxycodone would be safe for cats--I know that aspirin is toxic to cats, but other than that, I wouldn't know--the only thing I can tell you is to check with your vet on that--then you'll know what to do according to what they said! I hope you find out something soon--and that your cat gets better as well! Peace and blessings!
