All these fundraisers ask for strictly money, why not ask for SUPPLYS? I think these programs take a certain percentage of all the donations. Or maybe even the government.. Or am i just a little to baked?
Of course they take a % of the donations. They have to disclose what % is actually given to the people it is meant for.
It's more expensive to sort, organize, pack, and ship the supplies than it is to buy new. Think about it-if you gave them 6 gallons of water how much work it would be to get that water there. Someone joked that they new that someone would start donating coats to Haiti.
non profits have to pay their overhead costs too. by donating money you allow them to cover those costs and supply costs (the food/ water, plus the plane to carry it) not only that, they know what is needed right now at each area. they dont ask for supplies because it would be too haphazard. you send a case of nestle water, someone else sends 5gal jugs and it doesnt fit efficiently in a cargo plane. the charities can make a single purchase of cases of food/ jugs of water, have it delivered to a tarmac and loaded in a balanced fashion. sometimes people embezzle, and its usually very offensive to those who donate. its like arc thrift stores vs goodwill. arc employs disadvantaged folks, and donates their profits to specific charities (after paying leases, employees and utilities you know). goodwill employs disadvantaged folks, but they keep the profit, at least that is what ive heard. so i think you are just really stoned
^^ think of all the techniques we have for shipping items. Most products america gets is from places like China, so why not just change some shipping routes to Haiti and give them the items necissary. I was going to bring up how it could of been man-made, but i assumed SL'rs would think im crazy. The government actually does have machinery capable of controlling weather and natural disasters. Its true, whether a skeptic wants to believe it or not.
i dont think you are crazy, but earthquakes i think are more complex than HAARP using frequencies to alter pressure (which makes complete sense in my head) earthquakes and tectonic activity seems to be increasing all over. i still check news results for mayon, because i dont trust it. but i do think its harder to tamper with tectonics than to tamper with the weather. just look at the weather pattern changes as a result of concrete hot spots aka big cities. i just want to build my cob farm in the forest. away from it all. you got 20K i can borrow? you know so i can "own" my bit of earth? ugh, it feels like i'll never get there.
I have been hearing that we have the technology to make the earths plates shift enough to cause such a thing- -but come on, thinking like that is just a little off - dontcha think?? But I beleive Oswald killed JFK by himself- so what do I know?
visit rense.com they have credible information regarding to HAARP and what ever you wish to expose yourself to..
sending supplies is how things should be but its because of the monetary system holding back the shipping, the commission/% kept, and the monetary culture creating people that keep stuff to themselves along with creating evil governments and politicians. the monetary system is the biggest enemy especially in times of natural disasters. the best thing to do as a civilian is to go over there and volunteer, with money and supplies or not.
I was thinking this too.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-6bdnAez7A"]YouTube- Bonesman "Temporary" requests your cash while Haiti suffers
Conspiracy Theory w. Jesse Ventura. Truly a great show, thats how i first found out about HAARP. I know it is a little rediculous to believe 100% that our government created an earthquake. But its alot more logical to believe our government LOVES to take advantage of disasters like this. Fucked up world we live in, i just feel bad for all the political citizens that believe our government aims to please our needs. They believe everything the media tells them. Truly living blindly. Open your eyes and research! EDIT: GREAT video, jmt. Thank you.
They ask for money, because people in the western world are in general lazy asses who won't go an inch out of their way to help anyone else. Picking up the phone or going to a website and pulling out a credit card is easy though, and is what people are used to doing anyways. Beyond that, if you were to take 50$, go buy food (or other stuff) and ship it to haiti, you would only be able to get a small portion of that $50.00 to the people who need it. Whereas if 1000 people send in $50.00, that money can be used more efficiently to get help to those who need it. On top of that, if people were sending in supplies, they would end up overloading the delivery companies with things that the people in need don't really need. Imagine the people of haiti getting a ton of mittens knitted by well meaning old ladies. Nice gesture, but totally useless.
No, they ask for money so they can take some. If the government really wanted to they could donate alot more money than just by asking for it. Think of how much money the government should have. JUST KEEP IT UP U.S.A...KEEP SENDING US ON GUILT TRIPS TO DONATE TO PEOPLE WE DONT EVEN KNOW, even tho it is the right thing to do, if the gov. saw it that way they would get the job done immediatly in Haiti.
its just like donating to the heifer organization. you try shipping a cow, goat or sheep through ups. plus, livestock isnt cheap, so you go in with a bunch of friends, buy $10, 20, 50 or whatever worth of an animal, and they get it to someone who needs it, on the stipulation that that person donates back at least one of the offspring. and jmt, i was referring to the for profit vs not for profit. everyone has overhead costs though. house/ rent, car, utilities, all the things you need to live (in your selected comfort level anyway) and whatever is leftover can be used more freely. so you are 'paying off' the landlord, the foodchain operators etc. even if you live self sufficiently, you pay your overhead in labor, milking, shearing, planting, harvesting, canning, smoking, drying etc. and in the winter when theres less to do, you can spend your labors elsewhere, spinning, weaving, quilting etc.
It isn't just the US that helps out in these cases... Pretty much every developed country is sending aid to haiti.
^^ and i bet the countrys who really care dont keep any of the money. The USA does not care. Our government is really a buncha corrupt idiots running around following orders from the higher-ups.
