So is anyone planning on going to next years shambhala festival in the kooteneys? I've never been, but hoping to go after makin some moolah treeplanting. Any advice or stories to tell?
This is my absolutely fav festival!!! (you gotta like djs though as there are very few bands). I went last year and had such a wonderful time. I will definitely be going again thsi year with my hubby and friends. Not sure exactly what to share, but I can answer any questions you may have. Hmm, some things off the top of my head... 1. No booze on the premises. 2. At night you will easily get lost between stages (this can sometimes be very fun, but sometimes it is scary depending on your state of mind, lol) in order to remember where youo are, always exit the stage the way you came in... This was great advice after we got lost for three hours one night. 3. You will want to likely bring costumes.
This year will be my 3rd Shambhala! such amazing energy at that festival, I highly recommend it. Here's a few words of advice to anyone going for their first time: -go with an open heart and an open mind, -talk to strangers! befriend your nighbours! -camp in the tent camping area, it's much more chill than the vehicle camping -take a nap whenever/wherever you feel tired. listen to your body -on that note, bring ear plugs! so that you CAN sleep peacefully! (there is music playing almost 24 hours a day) -carry water around with you -bring costumes, or anything that makes you happy =) -flashlights around camp are key.... -it can get pretty chilly at night, so bring layers! soooo stoked for this year's shambles!! only 6 months away....
