I realize there is a bunch of threads on dandruff and I have read most of them.

I am starting a new job soon, where I am allowed to wear my dreads down :D YAY!

But the dandruff is soooooo bad I am self conscious and only wear them down when I am at home or if I know I am going some place where I know people won't stare at my head.

Anyways.. The dandruff is under each dread all the way down, and there is some in the front.

I have tried everything I have found in the forums.
    -Baking soda with ACV
    -TTO
    -Dr Bronners
    -Just Water
-Not wearing a hat or bandana

P.S my dreads are 3.5 months old, and I only occassionally had dandruff in the summer before dreads.

Any other suggestions!? I need help!

I have tried different times in between. Right now, once ever 3-6 days depending on how they feel. Not washing often made the dandruff worse

Try rosemary tea. Boil half a handful of rosemary in water until dark, strain, then pour/spray the tea on your scalp. You don't have to wash it out.

I got dandruff because I was using too much soap (dhhq) too often

Ive got a dread at the front that accumulated embedded dandruff due to it being over my favorite head scratching spot. I find that just giving it a good session of manipulation under the shower clears 90% of it out each time I wash.

On a slightly related note I've taken to using the showers at work, and the water pressure is seriously high so when I put the water hammer "massage" setting of the head it's like a fucking jet wash, which I though was really good for clearing the shit out my roots and generally avoid the use of soap. However I was a bit concerned that semi-regular blasting with high pressure water may be detrimental to my dreads. Anyone got any input in this regard?

everclean dandruff and psoriasis shampoo. I swear it works wonders. You can find it at most health food shops. It smells a little like campfire smoke but you get used to it after awhile...I had really bad dandruff like youre explaining and it was gone after my first application. I just wash with it once a week and I havnt had any dandruff problems since.

I attached a vaccum cleaner to a large metal bowl. I just stick the bowl over my head and it sucks the dandruff right from my scalp.

try washing like 3 days a week or when your scalp starts to get greasy.
i used to use Ivory Bar Soap and it worked real well for me and its residue free.
the tea stuff works real good too, and it makes ur head smell awesome for a day or two.

Power hand held shower heads are awesome sauce for so many reasons. *shifty eyes*
Never found them to be detrimental for my dreads.

    HAHAH! Awesome.

On another note, the rosemary works wonders. I use that shit about once every month or so (or whenever I remember to buy some rosemary...), and it boots the dandruff lurking around my roots right out of my dreads :D

scrape your scalp with your nail. is it just dry, flaky skin? or is it oily sebum and skin cells?
