I don't know hard to tell. For me my depression kind of came from hallucinogen use at first. Then after further use I seem to have broke free from such chains. I think if you have the right mind set you can break free from those chains as well from hallucinogen use. However I think it's still possible it will just confuse your feelings more. Experiences are so dependent on many factors.

Nope Lsd is the opposite of depression, the molecule is actually shaped like a seretonin molecule.

    Heres my spin on it,

    it could go either way.

Depending on your reasons for being upset

If even you cant seem to put a finger on the why, it may not cheer you up perse but it could very well be the tool that leads you to understanding the root of the problem you're faced with.

But if it's something like "My partner left me for someone else" then you may find yourself dwelling on it during the trip. It could just cause you regretful feelings about the relationship, or it could lead to epiphanies and the pathway to move on.

I guess it boils down to how you intend to use the LSD

If you're planning on simply enjoying the trippy trails and funky headspace in a party atmosphere, then I'd suggest you simply go with a 12 pack of Killians Red till you get over whatevers eating at you.

But if you intend to use LSD as the powerful psychological tool it is then while the experience may seem discomforting initially, the overall effect may lead you to a solution to whatevers bugging you and you will in the long run benefit from it's use.

lsd will help you face the issues that are making you depressed. so if you are ready and willing to face those issues with a little help from our friend lucy then no, lsd will not make depression worse -- it will actually help to end it.

but at the same time if you don't have the willpower to face those issues then lsd will make the depression worse.

think of lsd as a magnifying glass. you are going to be looking at your depression under a magnified scale. either you are going to be able to see things for how they really are because things have become so much more detailed and clear, or your depression of going to intensify because you are now facing it at a more intense level. either way, you are going to be facing it at a more intense level. but alot of the time facing issues at a more intense level can give more insight into them, and illuminate a path towards a solution.

also what fritz said about the intentions behind your use.

It could really go either way, if you're clinically depressed that would be one thing, but if you are just in kind of a slump, you would probably not be in the mind set to take LSD, and it could make things worse.

also, to the dude who said LSD is shaped like the serotonin molecule, that's not true. LSD is a MUCH more complex molecule than the neurotransmitter serotonin.

I ate a few hits of some propper L over a year ago. It was at the beginning of a "depressive eppisode." I was alone and not ready to face what L had to show me... this lead me down a painful path and into a "major depressive episode" according to criteria met by the DSM-IV. It took me about 9-10 months of hell before I could get back on my feet again (out of the depression.) Lesson learned

However, a little over a year later (last weekend), I ate some family L again... but this time with good friends in a better setting. It was one of the best choices I made in a long time. I have amazing drive towards my goals, and my depression is so much more managable.

Respect the substance, respect yourself, trust your instincts.
    Be smart out there.
