i know it will be quite some time until decition making will be underway but i was wondering when scouting will begin for nationals. and there are so many states this year under consideration how will it get narrowed down? im bringing my friend for her first and she is constantly bugging me for new info.
scouting is usually "officially" done (many scout year-round) from mid-may ending in mid-june when spring council meets and makes the final decision...lately with help from the friendly folks at the f.s. the site announcement comes around in mid-june, usually by the 12th-15th, or so and can usually be assumed to be near seed camp...so just stay loose until seed camp is announced...but don't be surprised if the actual site is a few 100 miles away from 'the assumed site'...like idaho, 2001...it's very rare but has happened in the past. you can always make it down to ocala if patience gets too hard to maintain...it's starting up next week but people are already there! good luck and hopefully see ya soon!
