So I am working on a new piece of art... and I'm super excited for it. For Christmas, my sister got me a hot knife (used for wood burning). I have never used one before and was wondering if any of yall have. If so, have any tips? I have a few different attachments for shading and such, but I'm not really sure how to use it. I know that the longer you hold it to the wood, the darker the burn. Anything else I need to know?
maaaan i seen this dude probly on the woodwright shop er somethin way back in the day. this guest they had on there did some kinda woodburning mosaic somethinerother. like eh threw sand over this small fire and let it chill for a sec then took these small chunks of wood and he would just set it in that sand on its side.. and it turned out that all those little pieces were just perfectly shaded that when he put em all togather they got this crazy intricate fishing scene (at least i think thats what i remember. or it was just a fish. either way it was amazing) .... but thats just a lil diferent take on woodburning ive always wanted to try
